The Daily PakistanPolitics-14 Jun, 2009
14Jun-2009--The PPP budget did not reflect its mandate or its party manifesto...generally increasing taxation...despite the over 2.5 trillion spread no relief is provided to the people from price hikes...needless reductions in the minor existing subsidies will increase prices further for teh people...a meaningless 2% decrease in mobile phone taxes and forcing people who do not have taxable income to file tax returns...a similarly ridiculous condition to get an NTN for phone, bank accounts, mobile phone connections and gas connections shows teh governments deliberate problem creating nature...posting of teh generally corrupt custom officers overseas also seen as needless or useless...a dangerous condition to levy sales tax on unspecific banking services...no major positive people oriented or people specific spending announced...or development oriented spending...Bhasha seen as a sindh specific project as punjab will hardly be able to benefit and sindh already restricting electricity generation on teh indus...the government seems to just want to collect more and more taxes and foreign aid and spend it on unending non development...almost worse than teh shaukat aziz consumerism...14Jun-2009--The airforce bombed/attacked teh supposed HQ of baitullah mehsud... mateen after the killing of a pro government anti taleban mullah in lahore...14Jun-2009--The US has dropped AQ Khan and indian oriented conditions from teh dubious micro managed pakistan aid bill......14Jun-2009--The governments hugely unpopular and needless taxation proposals contain a petroleum tax of Rs134 billion and a gas surcharge of Rs.299.37 billion and over Rs300 billion from sales tax...while it is creating problems for teh peopel it is giving government employees a generous 15% pay raise...just that shows the extent to which teh PPP is creating problems for the ordinary populace...The PPP can at best be said tobe a blind organisation with idiotic dictators blind to the peoples needs and problems at the top...
