Aug30-2009--In another of its dubious moves the PPP literally turned the Northern Areas into an illegitimate province and renamed it as Gilgit-baltistan even appointing a governor and giving it a chief minister...whether teh government can take such measures without teh approval of parliament is doubtful and teh government seems tobe occupying territory without it being a part of pakistan but still a sort of azad subordinate province...this is teh same sort of move in which teh government doled out billions worth of shares to teh workers of OGDC who apparently dont even do any work contracting out most of the important work to foreign companies...for this government illegitimacy and illegality are teh watchwords...many suggest that the government does not want to lose this area to the indians which also suggests some sort of dubious arrangement on kashmir with the indians...like musharaf... zardari also moving towards a sellout on kashmir many say kicking democratic institutions for a six on teh way...
