- Feb14-2010-- In further bizarre judicial behaviour after zardari elevated khawaja mohammed sharif the LHC CJ to teh SC and made Saqib Nisar teh acting LHC CJ the judges went crazy and a three member SC bench late at night without hearing the government side cancelled teh government notification saying it had been made without the CJ's consultation..newspaper reports have suggested that teh SC CJ reccommended both the judges for elevation to the SC after zardari rejected giving the retiring SC judges an extension..reports also indicate that the CJ also expected one of teh retiring judges tobe made the NAB chairman showing the growing power of the judiciary as opposed to the army...many say the judges may have teh PPP over a barrel...initially the PPP regime refused to approve khawaja sharifs elevation and saqib nisar was than apparently reccommended by teh CJ...reports also suggested that zardari had rejected the CJ's recomendations although there is no indication what they were...The SC CJ called all SC judges for consultation as teh governments slow decision making apparatus failed to approve teh 28 new judges reccommendation by the LHC CJ...The SC behaviour is quite bizzarre as there was no hurry and things could have been delayed until the 18th when the SC is hearing a case against apppointment delays...many suggest that Zardari acted quickly to refuse the reccomendation for new judges of teh LHC as a new CJ could be asked to make a new reccomendation...why the CJ did not want Khawaja Shareef to come to the SC is also not known...three pro CJ judges have retired recently from the SC and teh government would be looking to bring in judges not totally subordinate to the CJ...problem cannot be solved unless teh CJ and zardari meet and consult openly rather than in secret as court decisions or orders in such matters cannot be considered consultation
