• Mar21-2010--The rabbani committee which had the simple task of undoing the 17th amendment has done a job that could have been completed in two days..they have been unable to agree on a new name for nwfp and the status for Fata which is more a part of pakistan than gilgit baltistan...They have abolished the concurrent list and refused a single curriculum countrywide and GST collection by provinces...the changes might make the 18th amendment a more controversial document tobe repealed by some future government...The ANP is becoming controversial as it declared that it would make Fata a part of nwfp by force when its current status is different...many suggest that Fata should have a seperate governor too

• Mar19-2010--Pakistan apparently wants the USA to take over pakistans governance with help in at least ten sectors ie apart from security and economic aid...pakistan has not progressed much beyond the americans PL480 aid in the sixties......with pakistan failing to provide its populace basic necessities especially in the energy and security(policing) fields...The army chief wants something called strategic depth in relations when our army can barely operate in our own areas and they can hardly be of importance in the region with giants like india, china, russia and iran around...many suggest that pakistan wants a role as a behind the scenes regional policeman when literally nobody listens to them...shah mahmood qureshis views are that we have delivered and now its the US turn to deliver..many think that pakistan seems to expect too much and US reluctance to full engagement seems apparent..unless the government can at least deliver in some aspects of governance expectations from the US to improve things here will be stretching supposed US interests east of afghanistan a bit to the breaking point...The US has already shown its slow approach when it is its turn to deliver...many believe that the US listens to india but is usually deaf to pakistans real concerns...although they now seem happy at intelligence cooperation..The americans say that india, iran, russia and pakistan are all moving to protect their interests in afghanistan as the US thinks of withdrawal...there will be nobody to protect the indians in afghanistan and they too are thinking of withdrawing their contractors...
  
• Mar19-2010--Yusuf Raza Gilani who seems to have no expertise of any sort appoints two sindhi advisors a day after he appoints a gujerati who spent over a decade in exile as a political advisor...the PPP seems tobe frightened of appointing ministers and prefers appointing advisors at high salaries and with total independence...The controversial appointment is that of hafeez sheikh who was removed under controversial circumstances by the military dictator...lets see if they remove tareen as a sindh senator now...Gilani now seems to have four or five advisors just for politics?

• Mar19-2010--Pukhtun mna's irked by punjab police raids on pukhtun localities in lahore...since pukhtuns are directly involved in terrorism one wonders what the punjab police are to do...reports suggest that punjabi pukhtuns have been forming jirgas to dispense justice as well...one wonders also what the punjabis are to think of themselves after almost a steady stream of pukhtun driven terrorist acts since 2007...punjab is many say a bigger victim with a sindhi prejudiced government and an almost continuous pukhtun driven terrorist wave..while teh government wants immunity for themselves,zardaris, sindhis, mohajirs, pukhtuns and hindus the punjabis always get the rotten end of the zardari-altaf-asfandayar politics...are the punjabis the only bakra's in this country...
