• Aug24-2010--as the flood passes thru sindh.. situation somewhat stabilizes while the governments still unable to move on starting rehabilitation as affectees reluctant to start cleanups if aid is later denied to them...

• Aug24-2010--the floods could ensure a better wheat yield however losses in current crops of rice, cotton, sugarcane, maize, livestock could effect the situation badly with stored wheat stocks in southern punjab almost totally destroyed...government should probably import more wheat and sugar and look into problems of milk, meat, eggs and poultry availability...prices of vegetables, daals, potatoes said tobe shooting up...government should gear up medical teams for the flood hit areas...

• Aug23-2010--In what many see as a repeat of altaf husseins past performances he ridiculed the PPP's feudal corrupt governance and literally asked generals to impose martial law..generals have never been able to deal with corruption since they are corrupt themselves usually...they have either thrown politicians into jail or out of teh country and they come back when they go...revolutions need revolutionary people and pakistan does not have any...the imran's and the altaf's all live on western and interior ministry donations..on whose corruption does altaf live in england...beaurocrats and politicians obviously shop and live in foreign countries so as to hide their wealth accumulation......altaf hussein is a master of feudal politics in karachi and seems to want out of another alliance early as he sees signs of them being toppled sooner or later...to top that his indian natured munshi farook sattar said that teh country is in teh ICU and apparently accused asif zardari of going around buying new shoes in london rather than working for the country...the military dictatorships start looking good to the altaf types who can never even hope to enter governance...in military dictatorships the judiciary and parliament are eliminated from the status quo and with one person making teh decisions the squabbling ends and nobody even questions who is getting richer thru the subjugation of the people...

• Aug21-2010--twenty days after the floods started yusuf raza gilani arrived in south punjab where aid trucks are being looted and ministers attacked saying we will end the injustices to south punjab rather than alleviate flood sufferings...earlier mustafa khar said that we have done a lot in south punjab while pervez elahi touted his cardiology center and musharaf his cricket stadium while shabaz said we started building another medical college in DG khan and ring road in multan...he also said that dont listen to flood politics which will end soon although my reputation will be ruined by than...is yusuf gilani trying tobe a seraiki radical as he attempts to divide punjab in two...his attempts to have his son lead the PPP(south punjab) many say knocked down by zardari...?.....most of the damage many said was caused by wrong breeching of canals and bunds to save the jakhranis and khoso's lands..while some balochis said that devastation was caused by attempts at saving an airbase...sindh many say deliberately inundated baloch areas...
  
• Aug20-2010--Pakistans politicians unable to associate themselves with any formula created by previous rulers such as teh NDMA and the nazimates and are embroiled in trying to create unnecessary new organizations...we now have two NDMC's and nawaz sharifs suggestion of an independent body of credible people apparently rejected by the person whose credibility has suffered the most that is if he had any..or shot down by baber awan on the pretext that it would hurt the party...The army supported zardari and gilani have started looking ordinary with one trying to get some authority back from the 18th amendment and the other literally hiding behind his chair so that people might think that he serves some purpose rather than avoiding a trip to see the bedraggled and hungry flood orphans...many suggest that the government has enough organisations to handle the work..the armed forces handles most emergency aid...provincial governments should be able to handle basic relief work, provision of food, coordination and compensations while the flood aid should be handled by ERRA which has enough experience to handle reconstruction where required...The cabinet should remain in session and if required the primeminister can order ministers to visit needy areas or direct help..to study the situation since he himself wants to avoid any work or travel...chief ministers and primeministers are not meant to only sit on chairs and do nothing else...primeministers and chief ministers need to make decisions quickly and reallocate funds
  
• Aug20-2010--In karachi an ANP leader shot dead apparently by supposed ethnic oriented terrorists...ten more killed in ethnic violence, buses, wagons and trucks burnt
  
• Aug20-2010--while the PMD had stated earlier that heavy rains were expected they forgot to study sattelite pictures during the intervening period...PMD should access foreign and US sattelites to get a correct picture of teh situation..however since the floods are not too frequent nobody in nwfp especially was prepared to handle such a widespread situation...most beaurocrats as is their practice were invisible for days while charity organisations hard hit by US efforts to undermine them were slow in moving in due to the bad situation of roads and bridges...
  
• Aug20-2010--sindh continued to be the focus as a lesser strength second flood wave was on its way...with jafarabad continuing to suffer as canals were being breached
  
• Aug20-2010--while militancy is on the decline due to the hard efforts of the armed forces , FC and police zardari, shah mahmood and a KP minister continued to try to keep teh focus on terrorism saying the troubling flood was just a diversion...In such situations relief efforts such as providing basics such as food, milk, water, medicines should be rushed by teh government to areas of need if they donot want religious org's and terrorists to benefit from teh situation...The government should show efficiency rather than inability and a need for alms.. due to its persistent begging nature...the terrorists are already quite subdued and they would hardly be able to rush food to literally the entire countries flood affected...
  
• Aug20-2010--nwfp estimates Rs200 billion in damages and punjab Rs107 billion...sindh initially wanted Rs40 billion...while mores areas have been flooded in sindh as katcha areas have been allocated for agriculture the damage there is to crops and livestock...punjab too has a similar area inundated...1067 died in nwfp..103 in the punjab...184 in GB...44 in sindh...24 in balochistan and 64 in Fata...severe damage is also reported from gilgit baltistan Rs 10 billion and azad kashmir...more houses have been swept away in nwfp and balochistan...there has been damage due to floods even in Fata
