• Mar15-2012--The wealthy lawyer Aitezaz Ahsan who is trying to convince teh judiciary that he is a good cop defending a crooked primeminister...aitezaz does not believe what teh primeminister is doing is teh right thing but is still defending him which makes him equally culpable..aitezaz said that he is one of teh few PPP leaders paying taxes to teh tune of 12.3 million...one hopes they are not electricity bills that Nawaz Sharif claimed were taxes too...many question that if going to jail is considered essential why Gilani is not sending his PPP wala's or children to jail...many suggest that in teh PPP losing an election is also very good for some as Aslam Gill ends up as an advisor after losing teh senate election...
  
• Mar15-2012--The PPP regime and military unable to handle a decision on keeping relations with teh USA above board...with benefits only to politicians and military people find it difficult to understand why teh government is supporting the USA at its own peril...especially when things like drone attacks and teh unusually long unending Nato supply line causes more problems to pakistan than being of any help...It is felt that pakistan should cease its dependency on drone attacks and only allow Nato goods which are essential such as petroleum and food...unending military supplies which have been constantly pouring into afghanistan can only destabilize teh situation in teh future...for any benefits to pakistan Nato should buy supplies from pakistan many say rather than import them from around teh world...It is essential for teh USA to leave teh region...pakistan should stop supporting drone attacks, providing a military supply line and stop teh dangerous games played by teh US CIA...If our military cant do without training with reference to security guards and the FC than they should develop their training capacity rather than invite US marines and contractors...also allowing commando type operations by teh US military also seems hazardous...it seems quite apparent that teh country can do without Lugar aid too as well as US military equipment since they are only going tobe fighting internal insurgencies...That leaves only military spares for teh equipment that we have such as Orions, helicopters and F-16's and their ammunitions/replacements...the country also should develop indigenous sattelite monitoring capabilities...whether parliament can provide clearer guidelines is doubtful with people like chaudhry Nisar having their families in teh USA..The military and PPP ready to jump into the firing line again...upto Ossama ben laden teh situation was different and now it is different...The US should plan to leave afghanistan rather than continuing their stay for reasons that are not favorable to teh region...
  
• Mar15-2012--The National Assembly calls for comprehensive legislation to organize teh working of teh countries spy agencies...this in the context of missing persons and extra judicial killings which are said tobe frequent in karachi and balochistan although for different reasons...In karachi unidentified motorcyclists have been gunning down religious party activists as well as ethnic extremists with nobody ever knowing who killed whom...how they cannot be identified is thought to be their association with ethnic oriented parties, police killer squads and obviously intelligence agencies and teh provincial governments...In balochistan too sectarian and ethnic killings result in nobody being identified...however one notices that in contrast in lahore videos of those involved in teh sri lankan cricket team attacks surfaced immediately...The SC too is looking into indirect funding by teh ISI thru controversial banks while even Younis Habib suggests that they were not ISI funds but money from teh coffers of several banks...while most politicians have become rich overtime many suggest that teh source of funds like teh state run banks is sometimes said tobe controversial like the huge loans enjoyed by some families...The SC and national assembly should both work together to control teh illegitimate funding of politicians and the ISI and IB should not support their operatives participating in elections or even running politicians thru surreptitious funding...This is also the same reasoning in teh SC wanting cases against zardari for taking commissions in cases like teh agosta and SGS tobe reopened...Many suggest that legislation on how politicians fund their elections including commissions/profit sharing and how agencies operate in teh domain of sectarian/ethnic politics,subversive/secessionary activities need to have clear cut legislation..there are rumours of all types why some incidents take place...many suggest they involve undercover intelligence operatives being transferred or promoted...or being fired...!

• Mar14-2012--The spineless PPP according to the Dawn is going to appoint retiring spy chief pasha to head teh strategic command where Kidwai has been enjoying i think a decade of extensions...many suggest that Pasha was behind accusations that teh PPP is soft on strategic nukes and the liberation of kashmir...whereby Asif zardari had suggested that kashmir would be solved by teh future generations while we try to make money by importing useless indian goods...!Pasha many say could not handle indian accusations and propaganda and literaly shutdown all attempts at a kashmir solution...earlier musharaf had said that teh kashmir cause was only hurting teh kashmiris and intra kashmir trade and a transport link would solve teh issue...however that was teh conclusion of teh simla agreement too and it never helped move india towards a solution...we now have full fledged trade and low level transport links with the pakistani policy that teh kashmir solution, trade, terrorism etc should be seen in different contexts..many say pakistani governments increasingly seen as subjugated to indian hegemony especially with india diverting river waters by building dams and diverting water...
  
• Mar13-2012--Gilani recently said that there would be no new taxes while teh economic minister according to teh Dawn suggests a 16% sales tax on hydel power...if it is just on profits than it is a different matter...however a sales tax already exists on electricity sales and teh imposition of sales tax on hydel power would further increase electricity prices by 5%...taxing teh same thing twice at different levels is not proper...government should reduce spending in line with resources and not introduce unnecessary new taxes or go after further international loans...spending on useless avenues such as agriculture should be restricted and focus should be on teh countries problem areas only...

• Mar12-2012--Gilani refuses to write a letter to teh swiss authorities to reopen asif zardaris corruption cases citing immunity...he forgets that immunity does not cover corruption and criminal actions...Asif Zardari will however have immunity for all normal government activities that he undertakes as president...The primeminister and foreign minister however donot have any constitutional immunity of any sort...It seems certain that Gilani could be sentenced to a nominal six months of contempt...and since Asif zardari fired teh senate chairman he could easily appoint a more popular primeminister to take teh PPP into elections without teh incumbent ruining any chances of victory

• Mar10-2012--The duality of sindhis exposed by their provincial assembly...they rush thru a resoltion against wall chalkings in karachi supporting a mohajir province but never even dare to even comment on sindhu desh...The controversial MQM has been tasked by teh sindhis to divide punjab and nwfp so that they can get a bigger role for sindh...The PMln willing to even divide the seraikis by creating bahawalpur...while Gilani of teh PPP only supports a seraiki province...considering bahawalpur , karachi and hazara province heresies...many however feel that potohar too has some reason for being a new province while many feel that teh countries divsions should be turned into provinces so that development can be spread relatively equally and seperatism and ethnicism dented...
  
• Mar10-2012--The foreign ministry says that some countries have stated that they will not help baloch seperatists...while teh exiting Senate deputy chairman says teh PPP regime is involved in a conspiracy to force secession in balochistan by evading responsibility in serious aspects such as international involvement and not doing anything about forced disappearances
  and dumping of bodies...he also says that senate will probably be headed by by Nayyar Bukhari and Sabir Baloch of teh PPP
  
• Mar10-2012--The Mehrangate scandal of ISI payouts to politicians reached an almost dead end when teh former army chief said that asad durrani and younis habib were trying to mislead teh court...however Baig suggested that he had appeared before three different SC chiefs and refuted teh Gilani assertions that important appearances before teh national assembly and SC were something new...in the nineties asad durrani who was a former ISI chief and at that time the PPP ambassador to germany had refused to return home tobe tried...he remained in exile in germany for several years..PMLn also refuted teh allegations and said that they had revealed teh scandal of payments to teh PPP president's Razi farm in DG khan...The PPP is becoming known for getting payments for front companies such as those of Gilanis wife...Asghar Khan a controversial person who wanted to hang bhutto at a bridge on kohala and a lawyer want teh ISI and army forbidden from trying to influence elections..however since teh case is in court any illegality could lead to teh jailing of those involved and suspending politicians who received supposedly army backed contributions...!!

• Mar10-2012--The PPP regime moved out of its status quo mentality and finally replaced teh ISI chief after two extensions..Another Kiani protege Zaheer Ul Islam takes over after battering karachi's terrorism inclined into submission...Ijaz chaudhery teh sindh or karachi rangers chief takes over as corp commander karachi...The ISI chief finally was moved into a retirement home after a strange last year full of controversies and almost teh end of al qaeda in teh area...his questionable role will probably never be revealed...It was only after abbotabad,teh Salala bombing by teh USA killing numerous soldiers, teh memo controversy and teh failure of paksitans afghan policy and the failure of teh Pasha system of border consultations with teh USA and afghanistan that pakistans relations with teh USA were halted and teh PPP replaced its US ambassador with the controversial sherry rehman...The USA has continued to put a spanner in pakistans wheel especially in afghan relations, drone attacks, energy development and gas pipelines...Pakistanis have suffered as teh PPP regime spent four years almost asif they were dumb and unable to handle teh situation...bombings by the USA on our border, drone attacks, energy shortages, price hikes, floods bedeviled a regime, country and people that sat around doing nothing but complaining about one thing after another...It is necessary to replace the ISI chief and army chief after normal stints otherwise teh status quo is maintained and change becomes impossible...Pasha supposedly contributed to teh drone attacks and was involved in the killing of ossama ben laden while teh primeminister kept opposing drone attacks but did nothing about them..
  
• Mar09-2012--Many suggest that teh PMln and PPP are trying to encourage US interference in balochistan and orders may have been given to Sherry Rehman to try and get teh baloch resolution passed in teh US congress...others suggest that teh baloch sardars may accept US as a guarantor for whatever solution they reach with teh government...Shazain Bugti apparently riding in an escort of punjab policemen and chief ministers security vehicle met teh american ambassador in an islamabad hotel...others suggest that some new form of government may have to be formed in balochistan or an agreement to teh limits of sardari rule mixed with an inefficient assembly system..Raisani suggests that his government is not interfering with the sardars but is trying to limit terrorism, sectarianism and creation of closed tribal areas...teh government has backed out from setting up cantonments in tribal areas but is not willing to cede total control to sardars over the people...tribal or otherwise...many suggest that more public/governance participation by the people and obviously teh sardars with more equality is teh only way forward..
  
• Mar09-2012--In another turnaround the pakistan government is stuck with the remaining Ossama family as no other country will take them...The government therefore will charge them with illegal entry and jail them for five years...if twenty years from now somebody emerges from this family as a politician it will probably be with a convoluted surname...no Burma for these Ossama descendants...

• Mar09-2012--Baber Awan who apologized in contrast to the piggish attitude of Gilani to be charged with contempt for his irreverent attitude towards the supreme judiciary...The courts have been overlooking contempt charges for some time but political leaders have started to ridicule the courts rather than discuss its decisions

• Mar09-2012--The PPP regime is going for a massive electricity price hike to teh extent of Rs6 per unit..which would in effect tax teh consumers to teh extent of Rs50 billion in just a month...Domestic users seem to be teh biggest victims of teh PPP authoritarianism...With record revenues people feel that teh government is just wasting money and creating problems for the future with massive loans...
  
• Mar09-2012--the baloch sardars who have been living it up are in no mood to reconcile or negotiate...they also while not being slaves themselves regard ordinary people and beaurocrats tobe petty workers...Obviously the inequality of humans in teh sardari mind and system is teh cause that causes them to not only create problems for their tribes but also for the federal government...it would thus be best to let teh balochistan government handle things rather than teh army which has failed since the seventies when teh first marri rebellion took place...others suggest that teh tribes and other communities reach an agreement first amongst themselves and than talk to the provincial government and federal government otherwise it would be best to return balochistan to a Fata like status...Akber Bugti generally worked with teh federal government with royalties from sui gas amounting to around 200 million...The ending of teh sardari system in teh bhutto era has not worked and the sardars have re emerged as controllers although the same tribe is divided amongst rebels and those who work in teh system..There has been no general effort to locate teh rebel leaders who are inclined to ethnic violence and bomb blasts...The bugti area has a had a particular long feud amongst themselves and than with the federal government..As the Bugti chiefs escaped from army assaults teh evicted kalpars were returned under army protection...however attacks on gas installations, rail tracks and ethnic murders have been the hallmarks of teh rebellion in various areas with some sectarian strife mixed in......It is generally regarded that teh US, india, afghanistan and iran have been involved in the baloch insurgency
  
• Mar09-2012--The ISI fund distribution case which was opened after a long time took a new turn as Younis Habib said that teh money was provided by teh NBP and HBL from a joint account and not by teh ISI...He says he arranged around Rs340 million on the insistence of Gen Baig and Ghulam Ishaq Khan..most of teh money provided to non PPP sindhi politicians with only Nawaz Sharif, Lt gen Rafaqat and Abida hussein from the punjab...The culprits seem tobe Gen Baig and Asad Durrani since theoretically a private banker can fund political personalities...however at that time NBP and HBL were state entities...Altaf Hussein who many also regard as an ISI-MI stooge refuted teh allegations and said that teh military offers of money were refused twice..many however regard altaf hussein as teh creation of teh interior ministry at that time to dent teh PPP power base in sindh and create a king maker...however mqm power has diminished with teh emergence of teh PMlq as teh prime supporter of teh Zardari regime...The courts will have to decide whether it was ISI money or state funds and whether it was illegal for the ISI to fund politicians thru a civilian bank thru suspect origin funds...the bank which was setup with funds from various state sector entities...theoretically teh funding has come from a private bank which later collapsed...major beneficiaries of the scam seem tobe general baig, Jam Sadiq Ali, Pir Pagara and Younis Memon
  
• Mar09-2012--In a major change of track teh SC called for an implementation report of teh NRO judgement on March 21...many suggest almost all the cases are being handled asif teh NRO exists ie basic non compliance...The SC also suggested that teh primeminister had upto March 21 to write teh swiss letter irrespective of the Gilani stance that it is not implementable...in effect the SC has for the third time given teh order to write the letter..If the SC does not announce the judgement on March 21 if teh primeminister does not write teh letter than many will think that the SC is just administering justice in thin air...others suggest that a whole range of people could be indicted for contempt of the SC feels that the entire NRO order is not being implemented...others suggest that the only way out is for Asif Zardari to issue a blanket pardon for all those involved in teh NRO judgement...!!!

• Mar08-2012--Nargis Sethi a blue eyed beaurocrat says that the primeminister does almost everything but solve problems of the people..he works within and outside teh rules of bussiness..from dec 2008 to january 2011 she says he went on 30 foreign trips?...she says two summaries were received by teh primeminister which advised against following teh SC's orders on the swiss cases...Aitezaz Ahsan tried to cross question his own witness trying to create a favorable opinion about teh slow plodding anti people multani ...although she has not provided teh response of teh primeminister on teh issue...teh courts should see teh summaries and teh comments on them..one judge commented that Nargis Sethi was promoted despite being number 54 on the seniority list...she also said that he apparently bore no illwill towards judges and said that he liked living in jail...? she also apparently suggested that teh primeminister was not very well informed as he never went thru most files...the primeminister has refused to follow several court orders and teh judges have to decide whether he should be sentenced or not...since teh law secretary and law minister are not really responsible the theoretical person tobe charged is still the primeminister who bears the ultimate decision making authority...
  
• Mar08-2012--In a major decision teh EC by a 3-2 margin declared waheeda shah ineligible for contesting elections for two years and cancelled her election...Bravo EC...teh two sindhis on teh EC voted against showing their regional preference...that is why we need independent men on teh EC and not those controlled by the provinces...Waheeda shah had literally thrashed two memon women teachers working as election officials...politicians should curb irresponsible behaviour...
  
• Mar07-2012--Pakistan they say cant stay away from US problems and now the army and government want to handle Nato shipments thru teh railways and handled by the NLC...many suggest that instead of getting out of teh quagmire teh military and PPP want to get even more involved...the US has enough hardware in afghanistan and more wont solve anything...

• Mar06-2012--The SC CJ says that court cannot make decisions based on possible consequences and that the primeminister is prima facie guilty of contempt...The primeminister had said the day before that there would be no caretaker setup or chairtaker setup sugesting that he might be willing to disobey teh courts orders in the contempt case too...many say that asif zardari could possibly be strong enough to bring in naek, ahsan or even raza rabbani as acting primeminister to tide over such a judgement although others suggest that elections might be announced immediately on such a judgement with a caretaker setup of their choice...all three could be acceptable to nawaz Sharif...!

• Mar02-2012--SC judge tells ISI lawyer that agency people not superior to ordinary people and they donot have any monopoly on patriotism...the lawyer suggested that they did not kill the terrorism suspects and that they died in a hospital
  
• Mar02-2012--Ijaz Mansoor says a coup was imminent although the failed military establishment in May2011 did not seem strong enough or have any credibility left..nor did the puppet government move to replace teh erring top level military officials...however teh military inits own versions says a GHQ brigadier was trying to arrange a coup...brigadier being court martiallled...although a GHQ brigadier has little operational control...however the possibility that senior major generals who are generally incharge could mount a rebellion could be said tobe theoretically possible despite almost total ISI eavesdropping...apparently they wanted to eliminate top military commanders by bombing teh GHQ and than eliminating the stumbling political leaders...
  
• Mar01-2012--In what can be said tobe an anti pakistan move...pakistani industrialists were horrified to see the PPP government allow almost wholesale indian imports...many however see the high indian prices and low quality as a sufficient disincentive...at the moment indian imports from pakistan are a tenth of pakistani imports from india...around 4000 new items can now be imported which could see indian imports triple to around 10 billion...most of pakistani exports are in direct competition to indian exports and teh only beneficial imports are usually raw materials...however importers could be looking at indian machinery and other things that could be cost effective...
