  • Jan11-2015--mullah or qari chaudhry nisar alikhan has already absolved most militant organisations saying that they will only concentrate on the taleban types...while handling the sect based organisations is a political nightmare there are only a few that can be considered violent enough or militant...The ASWJ is generally opposed for its links to the SSP although it is based on mullah's mostly...similarly on the shiite side is the dormant TNFJ and the recent more involved MWM...shiite sunni attacks are generally retaliatory in nature although shiites seem more aggressive in karachi and rawalpindi...and than there are the kashmiri fighting groups like the Let...while they control terrorism or not they have support base's that are willing to vote for a cause...if they can effect even twenty or thirty seats a political party can win or lose...and than there is the widespread shiite and sunni effect base
  • Jan11-2015--mqm goes haywire at the death of one ofits workers in police custody accused of targetted killings...mqm threatens police chiefs and runs over container blockade like the dharna protests and get to the chief ministers office...commission formed to investigate police involvement

  • Jan08-2015--pakistan select a strange team to say the least...six pukhtuns out of a 15 man squad for the one day world cup and placating the taleban...!they pick an extra legspinner who might not even play...umar akmal who seems to have a disciplinary problem nature and has been playing badly off late seems tobe lucky to be in the side...they select a team of supposed specialists than pick a half baked batsman wicketkeeper...The top six seem tobe steady batsmen with only ahmed shehzad and haris sohail in form...if sarfraz ahmed plays normally umar akmal may have to sit it out with sohaib maqsood being the seventh batsman and afridi with three pacemen of whom only Irfan is a certainty...sohail khan, junaid , wahab and ahsan adil are the other four fast bowlers...ahsan adil could be the second pick after irfan as he bowls straight...junaid comes in for experience...pakistan can only play two leggies in adelaide although not against india...The aging sohail khan has been selected on recent form in place of bilawal bhatti...mostly a bits and pieces team which could rely on pace and parttime spinners...without hafeez's bowling they can probably only play five bowlers
  • Jan07-2015--The national assembly and senate passed another constitutional amendment this time stating that it is the armies responsibility to control terrorism...many jet black politicians tried to whiten themselves in the process...the ANP and MQM also joined the new year military parade...nowadays we have principled ethnic terror politicians as well as religious terror politicians...the two religious groups JI and JUIf refused to join the marching band objecting to the ridiculing of religion in the constitution...Imran Khan as usual did not turn up citing an old bowling injury...Nawaz Sharif arrived wearing a new flak jacket made of the latest bullet proof material..given the terrorists attitude it is going tobe difficult to impress them with military courts and unless the taleban willingly submit tobe hanged no solution seems in sight...the military and police are getting tired of the daily war on terror and now want proceedings hidden inside garrison hq's where the military courts will hide from the public...elsewhere the hangings, blasts and militant killings continued...theoretically the proceedings in a military cannot be dragged on forever and theother plus is that their decisions can be controlled to a very large extent...
  • Jan06-2015--JI and JUIf refuse to join the military clapping saying that the government is ridiculing religion in the new constitution amendments...the government has cited religion, sects and army bashers as the main cause of terrorism...shiites wactching cautiously from behind police lines as their sunni opponents run for cover...

  • Jan04-2015--The day after in what many see as a surprise usurpation or annexation of governance by the army... Provincial Apex committees were announced by the military consisting of chief ministers and provincial corp commanders including military intelligence heads...many consider it almost a defacto martial law especially in the fields of internal security, intelligence and military tribunals...fields generally related to the countries law and order situation...The first punjab apex saw the chief minister thanking the corp commanders for helping out presumably the sharifs from their political predicaments...theoretically the Apex committee's can be seen as martial law administrators with the bearocratic controlled economy left out of their jurisdiction...one sees little need of the pathetic economic situation being left out of army control since the sharifs have not been able to handle even gas supply to domestic consumers what to talk of electricity shutdowns and have to be forced to even reduce petroleum prices as international prices fall...falling petroleum prices have upto now had no effect on electricity prices...while the army tribunals are supposedly meant to handle terrorism generally TTP related they seem directed at maintaining a sectarian status quo with the government bent upon maintaining sects, their propaganda's and divisionist tendencies...most of the countries terrorist tendencies have emerged from sectarian divisions with most wanting a harsh islamic state many say a counterpoint to martial law...the harsh crackdowns that are expected to take place in the judicial military arena cannot many believe handle the sectarian divisions and militant organizations which have taken control of the countries law and order...The interior minister indicated that he had favorites amongst the over 60 banned and existing militant organizations and seminaries...The government is generally regarded as being pro shiite and under the control of shiite controlled medias and organizations...many have a belief that until one islam is harshly imposed no change can occur as attacks on the countries peace are considered destructive enough to make the government looked ineffective and unable to handle the situation...while many consider martial governance tobe just as ineffective the military has been able to create a semblance of control in the past with things unravelling when they go back to the barracks and the politicians and mullahs again taking to arms and streets to battle it out...while anti punjab organizations want the crackdown to take place in punjab the situation is such that nobody knows where the terrorists hide and who they are...in the troubled balochistan police were seen visiting shops selling speeches calling them hate material...!!while elsewhere they were seen trying to incarcerare the visible face of religious government opponents...many believe that the government has always been unable to handle the sectarian and religious militancies because of their personal attitudes and favorites on both sides of the religious and sectarian divides and thus exacerbating the problems by siding with one side or the other rather than solving anything...so what happens if the military jurisprudence is inefefctive against the terrorists...with hands tied behind their backs the politicians have an attitude that the system is responsible not the PMLn or the PTI...so that no politicians retires before death...now who is responsible the army chief or Nawaz Sharif or Imran Khan...nobody knows...!or the ethnic gunslingers or the sectarianists...or mullah fazllulh or zwahiri or mullah Omar...!
  • Jan03-2015--four militants and an FC soldier killed in a gunbattle in khuzdar
  • Jan03-2015--In another incident on new years eve a pakistani boat was blownup by the indian navy considering it a terrorist transport...but given current information the boat was a smuggling dinghy and was no real threat to the indians
  • Jan03-2015--after the complete failure of pakistans police, politicians, mullah's and armed forces in ending terrorist incidences politicians and the army chief met for a second time with the army chief insisting that the constitution be made subservient to armed forces actions and military courts be institutionalized in cases of terrorism..this brought about an end to politicians resistance to changing the constitution irreparably...the constitution after the amendment is made will allow transitional military courts which shall not be subject to safeguards regarding fundamental rights and/or human rights...in contrast to the anger against terrorists the government showed a weak response to killing by indians of border rangers in cold blood... meekly seeking just a probe...Nawaz Sharif who is turning into a mere figurehead expected profound applause for earlier restarting death sentences and military courts...however other politicians were wary of changing the constitution...
  • Jan02-2015--many still think that since many political and religious groups are involved with the terrorists it would take someone with no religious or political leaning to clear the country...many suggest the recent actions against maulvi abdul aziz and ASWJ suggest the government is being controlled by shiites and if the anti terror campaign has an anti sunni bent than it is not likely to succeed
  • Jan02-2015--As the corp commanders started to get upset at the boohoo over military courts Nawaz Sharif who seems unable to handle the normal governmental process again called an APC with the army chief to straighten out the wary of the military politicians
  • Jan02-2015--FC man killed in Sibi blast
  • Jan02-2015--The army has setup a new Lawfare directorate headed by a major general to relace the old JAG...since the old adage that nobody is guilty unless proven so is usually turned upside down in the military and becomes "nobody is guilty until the Lt. general says so"
  • Jan02-2015--The PPP which walked out of the national assembly said that they would not agree to amend teh constitution for the temporary military courts and a simple amendment to teh army act would sufice
  • Jan01-2015--2015 dawned with Nawaz Sharif still lamenting local terrorism but still refusing to accept that he will have to retaliate against murderers on the border as well...and indian instigated terrorism inside pakistan...Overnight the indians killed four Rangers in the shakargarh sector with no worthwhile response from pakistan...Modi again showed a lack of responsibility and a murdering anti pakistan nature...

  • Jan01-2015--On oil prices he again lamented government losses and did not reduce oil prices to the full extent while needlessly raising taxes...
  • Jan01-2015--three policemen killed in an operation against militants in Buner
  • Jan01-2015--In 2014 karachi police and rangers gunned down 925 suspects and lost 143 policemen and 17 rangers
  • Jan01-2015--The government of Nawaz Sharif is playing cat and mouse with the detention of Zia Ur Rehman Lakhvi who has been twice releassed by the courts and again rearrested...police have now arrested him in a six year old disappearance case...The government is making fun of the pakistan judiciary on Modi's orders...he is regarded by the indians as the person who controlled the bombay attack...with no direct evidence against him the courts have still kept him in jail for six years

how bhuttos got into politics in 1958...

debacle in Dacca

debacle in Dacca
total humiliation...India had steadily destabilized east pakistan over twenty years playing on ethnic, financial, development and military concerns...pakistan was not that rich at that time and the ethnicists played on phsychosis generated by cyclones, floods, tea and jute...the army and west pakistani politicians could not accept a bengali dominated government and a small army contingent could not defend against the mukti bahini and the indians as teh US withdrew its support as usual...When teh going gets tough teh US chickens out as usual...!! The indians have continued teh same themes in karachi, sindh and balochistan but similar tougher responses have not allowed their success although pakistan is now at best a divided land with a pathetic center...!!While it left pakistan numb at the time many now feel the seperation was a proper solution as east pakistanis did not get along with pakistan and they would be better able to solve their problems with india...others still pine away for the lost land of rivers, tea and jute...others suggest that india should handover kashmir in exchange...while some still want to repatriate those considered pakistanis and left stranded in bangladeshi camps...others however heave a sigh of relief as teh problems with the remaining provinces are generally insoluble.....and ethnic regionalism or provincialism mixed with economic and racial nonsense is not a pleasant mode of politics anyway...
