• Jul28-2016--Qaim Ali Shah resigns after reports that several groups were ready to fight an election against the zardari's nominee...however the party prevailed and nominated Murad ali shah as the cm designate...there have been quite a lot of jokes of one shah being replaced by another and than another...murad ali shah is an engineer with a master in economics from canada
  
• Jul28-2016--Waseem Akhter the mayor nominee for Karachi and an mqm leader who has been arrested in connection with the treatment of terrorists at Dr. Asim's hospitals...reports now suggest that waseem also was accused of orchestrating the May12 violence thru lyari/gulshan gunmen of the mqm on the orders of mqm leaders...at that time waseem was the defacto home minister while nominally the advisor of the chief minister...waseem also faces two cases of listening to Altaf Hussein's speeches...the mqm has however denied that Waseem has confessed to orchestrating the May12 violence

• Jul27-2016--The health deptt seems to know nothing about medicine prices...it is suggesting that prices of medicines have not been increased for 15 years and suggesting massive price increases...In fact prices of medicines have been steadily been raised by most companies such as getz...they are suggesting that prices of medicines below Rs3 will be raised by 100%...the government is obviously unaware of the high cost of medicines
  
• Jul27-2016--Waseem Akhter the mqm's nominated mayor has been remanded to jail in ten cases...he has been jailed alongwith Anis Qaimkhani, Rauf Siddiqui and the PPP's Qadir Patel as the cities main troublemakers after the cancellation of their bails
  
• Jul27-2016--two soldiers shot dead in a busy Karachi area...travelling in a pickup the two non commissioned soldiers rammed into a wall when a motorcyclist shot them...The military should many say revert to the old system of motorcycle messengers...many believe that political activists are ramping up the violence however others suggest that the events could be spur of the moment while still others think that the military could itself be knocking off trouble makers...police suggest that specific targets are pinpointed and followed...however why two soldiers are picked at random unless they make the same journey regularly or have had a runin with some political nasties...!others suggest that Rangers should be withdrawn and the police should again be assigned the task of policing the city
  
• Jul27-2016--Murad Ali Shah named as new CM of Sindh...Bilawal has tried earlier to replace Qaim Ali Shah an 83 year old lawyer with 70 acres of land...but upto now the old guard has been successful...Bilawal too has toned down his mqm rhetoric as the Rangers have done it for him...Karachi while certainly calmer has not reverted to the old city by the sea...Murad sees law and order still as a problem but believes that they can work with the military establishment to solve the problem...The army has unfortunately done in the older Shah which is something that the party could not do by wanting to take control of interior Sindh as well...The shahs in Sindh control supposedly crime as well as land and live in all nooks and crannies...!
  
• Jul26-2016--senior PPP leaders are objecting to the imminent appointment of Murad Ali Shah as sindh chief minister and that they are no longer being consulted by the zardari's...
  
• Jul26-2016--Pakistan go down to a humiliating defeat in the Old Trafford test...military training does not make up for ability, concentration and strategy...many are starting to make assessments of nearing retirement for younis khan and hafeez and questions are being raised about the wicketkeeping abilities of sarfraz...maybe resting yasir shah and bringing in the left armer maybe profitable in Edgbaston...others are suggesting bringing in the A team captain and/or one of openers in place of younis and one of the openers...The A team has at least three capable openers...some of the catches being dropped by the slip cordon should have been taken and younis and hafeez should be shifted to the deep...some are also suggesting that Hasan Ali an A team seamer be tried out who has demonstrated wicket taking abilities at home...Baber azam, jaahid ali, sharjeel khan and fakhre zaman are all capable openers...playing three left arm seamers also makes the opposition confident as a similarity emerges...therefore bringing in a right arm seamer for one of the left armers makes sense...the team also has a spare wicketkeeper who they could tryout...an outside thought maybe to drop younis/azhar for iftikhar ahmed who can than bowl 10-15 overs of offspin...misbah should curb his six hitting attempts to deep mid wicket in test matches at least

• Jul25-2016--A PTI leader alleges that Nawaz Sharif is lying about his open heart surgery...no statement was issued by the doctors of the Harley street clinic..they say it was a complication due to an earlier operation for atrial fibrillation ablation in which in some cases a cut is made in the heart or tissue is removed...the problem they say that it caused is what is called a hole in the heart...theoretically it would not cause artery blockages which is a separate disease...a person who has regularly been checked should not in theory have a sudden occurrence of heart pain...due to blood clots...also it seems odd that his leg injury did not heal in over two months...usually a vein is removed from the left leg and used for artery grafts...

• Jul25-2016--PPP apparently moving to replace the 83 year old Qaim Ali Shah as chief minister...supposedly he will be replaced by Murad Ali shah the son of a previous chief minister Abdullah Shah and current finance minister...while holding similar views Murad Ali Shah is younger and could probably reflect the proper powers of a chief minister...Qaim Ali Shah is generally pro mqm and very laid back while the younger group would like a more anti mqm approach...The Rangers having gotten used to powers in Karachi now want to include interior Sindh in their law and order power base which might be difficult for Asif Zardari and he could tell them to get it approved by the provincial assembly...Qaim Ali Shah was a federal minister in the seventies and has a consistent low key approach generally favoring landowners and not doing much for the people...with a Rs600 billion budget he is seen as not doing much apart from improving some infrastructure
  
• Jul24-2016--Indian foreign minister thumbs her nose at Pakistan suggesting that indian politics of violence in kashmir made it impossible for Pakistan after they are accused of terrorism...Pakistan has suggested that that it too could invade indian held Kashmir on the pattern of indian actions in east Pakistan. The pakistan army can at best be considered neutralized or frightened to take any action leaving the kashmiris to small scale militant actions which are crushed brutally by the Indians due to support from the USA...

• Jul24-2016--The Rangers controversy in Sindh where it wants a new extension and also the ability to work in interior Sindh has the Sindh government and the Zardari clan meeting in Dubai...Qaim Ali Shah and Anwer Siyal plus Murad Ali Shah are seen as pro rangers as it takes off the pressure of the mqm in Karachi...however Asif Zardari fled to Dubai after an anti military raving and ranting almost an year ago...The PPP does not want its rank and file troubled however the arrest of Dr Asim and recently Asad Kharal a henchman of the Anwer Sial clan seems to them that the problem could multiply...may have also suggested that the PPP might have restricted information flows to the Rangers on the recent SHC CJ sons kidnapping...
