May14-2005--The SC stops the PHC from issuing piecemeal orders in 269 petitions against the military court verdicts..however they can continue to hear the appeals...The PHC had declared the military court verdicts wrong and based on illwill and set them aside in Nov 2018...they say in most cases there were no FIR's...all the confessions were written by the same person in the same style...all the questions were the same and the answers...The entire record showed that none of the convicts was mentioned by name in any of the reports..The court concluded that the constitutional right to fair trial was not met...The AG had no answer to reasons of the PHC verdict...while the SC seemed tobe worried that it would have to face a lot of appeals...obviously the PHC could decide the cases on merit...The SC had previously restricted the PHC from deciding a case in the KPWWB case which was also strange...The SC seems tobe under duress from the government and the military authorities it seems...The SC seems to want that each case be seperately heard and seperately decided when all the cases are of the same nature...The SC should decide the key issue whether military courts and prosecutors can do what they want irrespective of constitution and law...Imran Khan seems tobe nothing more than a military puppet in most cases

May14-2020-- The Bhasha Dam version three has been undertaken...a massive 1600 billion project...it was initiated in 2006 and first phase got under way in 2010...land acquisition approach road and housing colony were tendered and even an inauguration ceremony with a blast was held ...no news on whether that phase was completed...however they are now working on just the dam ,spillways and diversion tunnels..that will take a long long eight years...the end phase of hydroelectric generation will start later when somone can be found to build, operate and run...a chinese company and Fwo this time as contarctors...with a multitude of various names in the consultant group led by Nespak...a concrete rolled dam...only the consultants and contractors are foreign...spillway will have 14 gates and there will be five outlets to eject the silt...because of that the life of the Tarbela dam may not increase significantly unless something is done about its silt accumulation...supposedly this phase to cost Rs442 billion......This project may take much longer than is apparent now...Probably a completion time of 2033...!
May14-2020--Pakistans leadership has failed in getting the people to believe anything...they now say that lockdown is a failure...the cases continue to rise with the new numbers being 36717 and deaths 788...WHO says that possibly the corona virus may never go away like the various types of flu...Mauritius first country to declare total victory as all their patients have gone home...
May14-2020--Shahbaz Gill the CM Punjab's defacto caretaker has been appointed as the communications man for iMran Khan...he will also be serving in an honorary capacity they say...a caretaker for the unwilling/ineffective/inept ruler...!Imran Khan should realize that his initial vision was totally wrong/defective and should make a better effort...maybe the PTI should hire Sarfraz Nawaz who says they he could needle him into bowling better...!this is one of a long line of information blunders or failures by the PTI's... i must say failed leader
May13-2020--a police constable is the first policeman to die in punjab from corona... there are 233 infected policemen...an army major serving at Torkham also died suddenly of corona...the military has not issued any statement on how many victims of corona are from the military...although there have been several statements of men dieing in military hospitals
May13-2020-- Is Pakistan considering Herd Immunity asks the daily Dawn...No it is not but there is actually nothing else todo...testing here is around 1000 per million and ...when 99% of the people are not tested there is no other option...unless dirt cheap DIY tests arrive the people will not be tested...the only objective is that in the harsh summer the virus will be eliminated...Pakistan is just not efficient enough to end the virus by its methods...so the only option for the government is to see to it that free food is available at designated points and that no famine like condition occurs...!

May13-2020--an uneasy looking Zartaj Gul says most people support the primeminister apart from doctors and the intelligentsia...the rushs in markets are a pretty evident indication that the decision was wrong...yes people are upset not at the handouts to the poor but the Rs800 billion doled out to the richest tabqa of pakistan......no help was given to over 80 % of the people... as to handouts to the poor... no way was found to feed the poverty stricken...the confusion is at the attitude adopted by the primeminister and the PTI on the corona lockdown...suddenly the two month lockdown was not even necessary...a little effort that could have created a sense of a capable government was not made...

May12-2020--Pakistan seems to be following the american model in lock-downs many say...No serious analysis and just do it...what happens happens...analysis in the USA says that with 25000 cases daily they could infect over 1.3 million others without a lock-down...Sweden is the only no lock-down state and there deaths have been terribly high 361 per million with 241 in the USA...Trump has ordered everyone in his office to observe social distancing and wear masks...everyone in the Trump staff is tested daily...!everyone seems to agree that China with its strict regimen seems tobe successful...other aspects in the USA could be DIY tests that are coming up...The Harvard model suggests 10 million tests daily to catch all emerging hotspots...however the US is capable of only 250000 tests per day...so the USA could theoretically go into a series of upward loops in cases...experts suggest that the best model for ending a lock-down is a 14 day period of decreasing cases...
May11-2020--Khawaja Asif says that the government has an upside down mentality...when there were no cases they imposed a lock-down and now when there are more cases and a serious situation is emerging he is ending the lock-down...he probably does not remember that Imran Khan was reported to be opposing the lock-down from the start...he is so money money and money that he cannot understand the misery of corona patients...he does not understand that it is done to stop the spread of infections...
May11-2020--some research suggests that if you lose your sense of smell than you will definitely have a severe corona attack so get to a place where they have remdesavir or some other antiviral...doctors suggest to mix in other symptoms as well...Secondly they say A blood types are more likely to catch corona and O types the least...In the USA there are 33% type A and 48% type O...however type O 's have a 16% likelihood of catching the disease

May11-2020--Saudi Arabia with 37000 cases and 239 deaths has been done lightly however they seem tobe in economic trouble as oil prices have suffered and there is no demand...also saudis mainstay is the hajj and umra industry...with no other income sources or investments or donors the Saudi's have resorted to vicious taxation on everything...vat climbs from 5 to 15% and payments to locals for cost of living will be stopped......the Saudis only real government resource is the oilfields with everything else owned by the princes...many suggest that they nationalize everything owned by the princes...with oil income said to fall to 35% or even lower depending on when the oil market picks up...the Saudis said tobe in the market for $60 billion in loans...Saudi Arabia should realize that they cannot increase non oil incomes...and not to waste money on such crown prince follies...!

May10-2020-- Trump and Mike Pence get corona tested every day...while our poverty stricken ruler has only got tested once...apparently our star ruler suggested that he was khud kafeel and just donated Rs20 million to his charity organization for fun from his PM corona fund...!apparently the Shaukat Khanum gets Rs16 billion in donations and still wants zakat and charity funding...!and even Rs500 from ordinary Pakistanis which they said would be used for corona masks...!some people mull over the fact that they are only around 90% people who get nothing from the government and they too dont have money growing on trees or plants...!

May09-2020--As the PTI continued its propaganda tirades against the Sharifs the PMLn shot back by suggesting that Imran Khan and NAB are behaving like they are Corona...there has never been any such disasters as corona or 'aizab-ilahi' in any previous reign...many suggest that such aizab are caused by bad rulers...one political leader suggested that NAB was Imran Khans corona...The PTI has again been suggesting that Shahbaz not very active due to corona return to the UK...! who have countered that there is no utility left for NAB and it should be abolished

May09-2020--as the government eased the lock down by opening all businesses...it was the bussinessmen who heaved a sigh of relief as the people were getting by anyway...might be the availaibility of naans becomes better or it became easy for the eid revelers...however the government must pay heed to the statement of the Baluchistan DG health who issued a dire warning...however as the cases have been increasing many fear that the situation may easily worsen with the government bent upon bringing another 100000 stranded Pakistanis...The governments statement that they are better off than many other countries seems uninformed and based on a propaganda type of mentality...Pakistan is at number 21 and that is just below the countries that it is perhaps comparing itself too...With Pakistanis huge population anything can happen if the peoples movements are not restricted...The government has not opened shaadi halls and large gatherings of any sort or transportation systems...The government should resort to daily warnings of what not to do...

May07-2020--while the government is under the myopic view that helping the industrial/bussiness sector to the tune of Rs800 billion will solve the peoples problems...that is highly erroneous thinking and will only help around 5-6 lakh families of the very rich sectors...The other helping hand that the government says it is doing is aimed at around 7% of the very poor...That leaves around 92% of the populace that includes daily wage earners, very small bussinesses and the middle and lower income groups who have not been helped at all by the government...a huge group that contains the transport sector and the school sectors are not slated for opening or economic help...That leaves the retail sector that the governments want to open...how many daily wage earners will get jobs is still uncertain given the SOP's and the situation...The government should consider some sort of easing in the food availaibility at cheaper rates and the restaurant bussiness...The government should consider massive reduction in sales taxes and stop almost total wasteful government spending...i doubt anybody wants to cooperate internationally in locusts at this time...government should handle the eradication of locust infestation onits own...

May07-2020--The news that Imran Khan continually wants to ease lockdowns as to opposition from the provinces who have to deal with the problems...however the actuals are that only a few aspects of the lockdowns are being eased...The major shutdowns in the education and transportation systems are set to continue...however some say that a few trains might be started as will a few domestic flights...

May05-2020--cases again rose today after a two day decline...Punjab again raced ahead as KP moved to 3282...Balochistan extended the lockdown by 15 days...the primeminister was again quoted easing in countries like the UK which are in dire straits and have no relevance to Pakistan...Pakistan situation similar to Chile, Bangladesh and Indonesia while i think Singapore and Qatar have done very well in restricting deaths to very low numbers...the primeminister should focus on the Pakistani stats to make his decisions...revenues and spending are just a sleigh of the hand and he should control his urge to meaningless spend...his beggar mentality should also be kept in check as other developed countries are in far bigger trouble than Pakistan

May05-2020--Apparently the Corona Tigers a supposedly volunteer force with political motives has arrived...In a first the deputy commissioner of Kasur appointed them to oversee the Utility Stores in the area...whether they work in conjunction with the administration and police or on the orders of the party is yet to be seen...i suppose they will try to keep the people in line which might create sparks...the primeminister has them forcing SOP's while the health assistant has them doing telemedicine...

May05-2020--Punjab which is in its second peak could see a drop in cases in May...!In Sindh cases seem steady and thus a drop could be expected also...KP also might see a fall if the spike has passed...The situation should be reviwed on 15th May to see which way things are moving...

May05-2020--The only money minded Pakistan government should pay heed to studies and the 1918 spanish flu experience...if lockdown is stopped early than worse spikes can occur...social distancing is just not possible in Pakistan...the second wave could come at the year end for Pakistan like countries and it could be worse...and if there smaller spikes than it could continue thru 2021...a third scenario is emerging that of a slow burn that it will never end...even if a vaccine is made it could come to Pakistan two years down the line...can we vaccinate 200 million in a year...?impossible...i would put that at 2-3 million a year depending on the cost and whether individuals can buy it off the shelf...herd immunity is the only answer left and when 60% of the country have been infected...!we just are not as efficient as China...!China is asking for evidence that it was responsible for the breakout of the virus from its P4 laboratory...almost an admission of guilt many suppose...the US alleges two scenarios that a lab worker got infected and spread the disease..or lab animals were not properly destroyed and caused the spread...!

May04-2020--Asad Umar must be pretty crazy to compare traffic accidents with the corona virus...it is not deaths but the spread of the infection that is controlled by lockdowns...the situation could get out control totally by ending the lockdown...The government must realize that revenues should not be their objective in this situation...other countries are ending the lockdown after an improvement but not without any improvement...if the situation worsens than their dream of revenues will also fail to materialize...

May04-2020--Pakistan governments position that their situation is better in the world is debatable...they have almost the same numbers as Chile and they dont look good in comparision...Outside Europe there situation is similar not better than other countries...In Chile the deaths are half of pakistan and half the patients have recovered...maybe our government does not have enough brains to see the reality...as one commentator questioned what Asad Umar and Imran Khan were smoking...black hashish many say...!

May04-2020--easing lockdown seems tobe an uneasy and unwise decision and not technically required...if you cannot control traffic and mass rushes on streets than dont doit...you will only create more infections...In this situation the economy is not expected to improve...nothing in the curve is going down at the moment...The people are not going to spend in this situation...the world is not normal and you cannot expect to see yourself differently...Pakistan cases rise to 20888 and 476 deaths...wait for something like new cases to start reducing...you cannot and should not ease lockdown when you are still on the upswing...

May04-2020--Doctors worldwide are studying the reasons for the corona virus spreading differently in various countries...one suggestion is that developed and mediumly developed countries donot get the BCG vaccine at childhood which supposedly is a TB vaccine developed long ago because milkmaids did not develop TB...!it supposedly also protects against problems like respiratory illnesses...Africa they suggest reacted better in various places because they are used to deadly virus attacks like Ebola...and that travelling is limited......They also suggest that good hygiene might the cause as better developed countries donot become immune to a variety of illnesses...At the moment various reasons/causes are being killed because various countries handle things differently...eg Japan which has an aging population and is well developed too has a relatively low incidence rate...ordinary countries like cambodia and myanmar and laos handled it better even without lockdowns...Countries like India and bhuddist countries which donot greet each other too much might be one reason...they usually refuse to shake hands and the japanese and koreans are used to bowing...in some poorer countries the mask was becoming common because of bad environments..countries like Pakistan where was there no incidence it spread as travellers returned from high incidence countries like europe, iran and USA and some say Nigeria...!also some countries in the midst of conflicts and isolated like iraq, yemen and syria did much better...however Lebanese who travel to italy and Iran a lot did not have a high incidence rate...In countries like South Korea an old women spread the virus in a congested religious gathering...those who could trace better also did better...some say extensive testing helps but the views goes both ways on many things... totally isolated island like Socotra off the yemen coast has no infections and Yemen only one or two...!Isolation, no travel and no food imports is one reason many suggest that is popular...usually warmer countries supposedly... do better...however there is a difference in hot and tropical as well as humid environments...it definitely likes colder weather...ultraviolet light and sunlight kills it they say so in some countries people tend to stay in the sun...It is a mix of conjecture, thought and what happens in many countries...In indonesia they say the health minister is a rare person who still believes in prayer to kill the virus and that they do well...!a few countries like vietnam are considered efficient handlers like China...maldives a tourist mecca has 500 cases and 1 death...and probably no tourists...

May03-2020--Belgium is a pretty bad case with just 49517 cases they have 7765 deaths and a high incident rate of 4297...Germany has a high recovery rate of 121014/of 164702 cases...maybe the german handling methods can provide some light to hard pressed doctors in other countries...ie apart from remdesavir and RA meds for cytopene storms...

May02-2020--Imran Khan has no explanation for his opposition to lockdowns except that pakistans situation is much better than europe and the US...in Denmark kindergardens schools have also opened...while in Germany all bussinesses are allowed to open...however given the rush seen in Lahore bussiness opening should at least be staggered...one should make decisions on the countries situation not what other countries do...many here have no love for the governments of iran, egypt or the USA...Imran Khan probably does not understand that the people did not elect him to follow the USA or iran or the IMF or Egypt...if the situation is normal according to him than he can advise the provincial governments to end the lockdowns completely...Itni himmat he cricket ke khilari mein...!i doubt it...things have steadily deteriorated in pakistan on the corona front and according one news item at least 6000 more people must at least be tested according to mobile monitoring just in islamabad...If Imran Khan wants to follow the USA than he should at least arrange for the testing of at least 10 million people and if a vaccine emerges innoculating at least a million a year...and if he wants to follow Egypt their state owned airline has 69 modern airplanes...
