Aug4-2021--Khalid Mansour appointed as head of CPEC authority...an engro man he headed the Chinese owned Hubco which was previously owned by Engro and a British company... he has enough corporate experience and could manage the CPEC projects whose main problem is usually dealing with the government...on security, finances and logistics...asim bajwa after his run-in with corruption accusers has had a downslide in his reputation and his work slipped and was unable to handle mainly Chinese complaints and the pace of work which is thought tobe at a standstill...asim bajwa was appointed on his Baluchistan experience but that is really not a real necessity in CPEC work unless the projects are in Baluchistan...there seems tobe a slowdown/stoppage in cpec projects and concerns about repayments...with pakistan having everything in one basket it might be better to have asad umar as a full time planning/cpec minister not doing anything else or having a fulltime CPEC/Chinese ministry...Pakistan needs to determine the pace of the work with reference to repayments...Pakistan should also look to reduce its western loans which now technically are wasted and have no real purpose or output...

Aug3-2021--The USA has started bringing back afghan interpreters, drivers etc. who worked directly for the US forces and CIA...others who worked for US NGO's are not so lucky but have been told to get out of Afghanistan and apply from third countries...The US plans to bring back around two thousand of afghans for resettling in the USA thru special visa's...200 have already reached the USA...this is in the light of afghan reports that the Taliban killed around 40 afghans who were government officials or former anti Taliban government officials in Spin Boldak...there are several lakh internally displaced afghans at the time while others have been trying to get out thru iran and central asian republics...

Aug1-2021--Taliban and the afghan government are locked in battle for lashkargah and herat city...In herat the warlord Ismail khan is preparing to defend his area...these are second ranked cities with smaller populations...Moeed yusuf says that they cannot take in more refugees and that they should relocate them inside Afghanistan...probably looking for funds many say..there was no real reason for the Moeed/Faiz visit to the USA and these things canbe transmitted in text even...the UN should get involved in afghanistan to replace the US created vacuum...there was no satisfactory response to the Imran suggestion that they take on the US role with regional support...he queried why they are so against Pakistan...the afghan refugees if they can be controlled and the world provides resources can be housed on the Pakistani border or both sides of it...while afghan refugees are very hardworking and they have been running successful businesses they have also engendered a terroristic paradise...Mullah Baradar used to travel from Quetta to Karachi on a bus regularly w/o anyone noticing him...Imran says the Taliban are just normal people...afghan women would probably prefer his islam to that in afghanistan...Imran has been told that the Saudis will help out the Taliban if they come to power again...others say the saudis will lock him up...who needs advice on growing trees...the UAE is good at it and the saudis should take their view since the areas are similar...as for afghans they say they are themselves bombing the Taliban with the small planes given to them by the USA...i think it is difficult to accept that the Taliban will be able to control Etim, TTP and the ISIS although one must realize that the afghan government has been unable to control them as well...kandahar airport has attacked with three rockets and the taleban say they will control neighbours dissidents even though it is their own job to control their areas...the taleban also say that at the next meeting they will present a written agreement for perusal and signing...
Aug1-2021--several attacks in north and south waziristan left two soldiers dead...at least two IED's and a barrage of rockets...probably the TTP is worried about what will happen after the Taliban takeover and are trying to get back and raise some hackles...the military though present in the former tribal areas are unable to stop the attacks or deal with them...probably new young militants emerging...
