• Oct8-2009--In what is being termed as teh most frightened army ever both the corp commanders and PMLn stopped short of calling teh government unpatriotic and anti pakistan and asking for its removal after it became clear that the PPP regards such attacks on national security as things that dont matter...The army and the PMLn both rejected the aspersions cast on the armed forces in matters of national security...many regard the Kerry Lugar Bill as almost a drone attack on pakistani governance leaving in tatters the reputation and supposed pride of those involved...The army suggested that it was the rubber stamp parliaments job to control the bad actions of the government...many regard national security as teh job of teh armed forces and they should take a stand on such issues...others suggested that it was the bad thinking process of many in the PPP who regard democracy as something that can be controlled by washington...others say if democracy is for washington than it wont survive in teh long run...it has tobe pakistani in intent and purpose...both zardari and kayani seem to be thinking up the wrong tree many say...many say an army contractors son in a top govermental position and a sindhi advisor are responsible for the bad wording of the bill so that they could supposedly control promotions in the punjabi army and say that Kerry Lugar says this and says that and we cant do this and that...that is how the PPP has run teh governments anti people manifesto by saying that teh IMF has ordered this and that...
• Oct8-2009--In what is being seen by many as the re-emergence of teh army as a political participant after humiliating teh taleban in Fata and swat teh 122 corp commanders meet conveyed to the government its negative apprehensions on teh Kerry Lugar bill...the army chief is said to have urged teh government to take into consideration teh negative views on the aid bill...mostly many think that the army is not willing to giveup its powers to civilians in matters of strategy, promotions and nuclear matters...The PPP regime many say is now almost certain to reject the bill inits current form and suggest to teh US that teh issues on which the secretary of state will give its assessment of US policy concerns for loan renewals be withdrawn from the bill and if at all necessary be handled on the usual consultation basis between governments...pakistan has already been consulting teh US on appointments such as those of teh army chief...most people regard teh bill as humiliating rather than friendly and think it could seek to wrest control of sensitive areas from the pakistan government...
