• Oct6-2009--In what is being seen as a major victory for PPP insiders yusuf raza gilani and teh foreign minister both PMLn supporters did not appear to defend teh Kerry Lugar Bill a PMLq-musharaf-PPP initiative... but a possible primeministerial contender Qamar Zaman Kaira defended teh Kerry--Louter Bill...many say it is teh death of pakistan as an independent state that teh state got its policies which are diabolical to say the least incorporated in a US aid bill...The $1.5 billion grant per year for the civil side while pakistans own Rs.2.3 trillion is spent on the armed forces and loan repayments...many see the PPP as being brain dead in seeking approval from teh USA on appointments to teh army, its external subversive activities, parliamentary approval of defence matters( which are at best minimal), nuclear personnel matters, control over the syllabii taught in pakistan, control over internal terrorist fighting, money movements and control over governance by the military...(all indian induced say bill opponents)... the bill they say will end military assistance in case of PPP failures to comply and as a final kick reduce teh civil disbursements by half...this seen in the light of threats to quetta and reports of american military bases(blackwater style) in three main areas literally creates an american contolled state with powers less than even Haiti, Panama, Puerto Rico or Peru......and this is a matter of intense disappointment and humiliation for a state that was the last US bastion in the region and was able to take on india at least in matters that were important to its statehood...!!..most disappointing is the fact that these matters have been incorporated in the bill by PPP negotiators and beaurocrats who thought that they could thus be better able to control the army and its mainstay the PMLn/PMLq and obviously fool the dumb population just as a side attraction...the PMLn-PPP coalition should not last long and many say that nawaz sharif appointees will fall by the wayside if PPP rule is extended and in teh case of a mid term election who knows if teh PPP will survive even in sindh...PPP supporters suggest that they will satisfy the punjab by giving its share according to the population(hogwash given the sindhi nature of the PPP)...PPP has lost its way and is being seen by many supporters as a public enemy which will not shy away from snatching food from the hands of even a dying child...no social causes have been propagated by the PPP in the last year...apart from grinding the jobless and teh poor into further ignominy and hunger...?
