Oct3-2009--Shabaz sharif and chaudhry Nisar reportedly meet army chief says teh dawn...many say army chief intervening as punjab starts taking umbrage at views propagated by teh zardari regime in which punjab is literally being minused out of everything...with nwfp threatening to cutoff electricity, sindh literally usurping punjabs NFC funds, balochistan threatening teh few punjabis that live there... shabaz sharif is being seen as an ineffective champion of punjabs rights...many say PPP might also be forcing nawaz sharif out of politics...while others suggest that the PMLn wanted armies views on the Kerry Lugar bill...too...the two were also involved in forcing a previous army chief to resign...shabaz has been almost a mute participant in politics as PMLn at teh national level wants more turbulence or be allowed to explain their positions...the army might also be looking at alternatives to the unimpressive gilani...Oct3-2009--punjab takes over sugar mill stocks to sell them at SC prices which formed a commission to settle sugar prices...one fails to understand why the government wants to raise sugar prices and is literally creating more problems for teh ordinary populace whose rights have literally been denied and repudiated by this government in each and every way possible...Oct3-2009--As the US starts to focus on cutting taleban links into quetta after focusing for teh last two years on Fata rather than fighting teh taleban inside afghanistan maleeha lodhi says pakistan cannot mount a harsh crackdown on refugee camps near quetta on the off chance that they will net some alqaeda bigwig...even in afghanistan teh US has focused on trifling tribal challenges rather than on taleban dominated areas...Oct3-2009--In the senate the PPP sponsored Kerry-Lugar bill was critisized with many seeing it as derogatory and insensitive to pakistans needs and aspirations..The attitudes of US embassy officials and threats of drone attacks on quetta also came in for condemnation...with hasil bizenjo saying teh government was avoiding taking action on reports of a quetta shura...many think that consultations on internal matters such as syllabii, army chiefs, nuclear individuals and how indian attitudes are handled is not conducive to good relations and pakistani syllabii dont even talk about teh US and usually encourage tolerance although pakistan has little chance of turning into a finland given teh geographical region that it is located in...The US itself refused to even talk about kashmir when india showed its sensitivity...should teh US treat pakistan any differently...!!Oct3-2009--27 killed in helicopter attacks in bara on the problematic lashkar i islam also destroyng one explosives vehicleOct3-2009--military shelling kills six in bajaur...Oct3-2009--men on motorbikes kill former jail official in quetta...Oct3-2009--karachi police nab two involved in killing baloch ministerOct3-2009--12 injured in a blast at a birds fair in miranshahOct3-2009--with power shutdowns still routine the power minister now says he is buying rental power at Rs17.40 compared to IPP rates of Rs10.34...he says rates increased in anticipation of rental power plants even though rental power does not account for six percent of power supplies at present...given teh situation rental power seems tobe ineffective at present...rental power would only be effective if shortfalls were in a much smaller range which shows bad decision making or ineptitude at teh higher decision making levels... Oct3-2009--EC tells LHC that law and order situation good enough and teh punjab government had not shown any specific details of problems...politicians wary of terrorism many say which would be destabilizing...
