Nov6-2009--Asif Zardari after being burned by his ethnic-religious allies on the NRO and stuck with an anti people primeminister looks for alternates in some figures from teh punjab to bolster teh tottering PPP regime...with Yusuf Raza Gilani not doing any thinking before undertaking anything and looking increasingly like a puppet.. bringing in the lawyers leader into an influential position in government could provide some leadership options in the leaderless and forsaken punjab and even at the center...Zardari apparently offered Aitezaz Ahsan the position of attorney general although he said he would prefer tobe primeminister having been the right hand man of Benazir Bhutto...a former interior minister he could help in solving teh long running Fata dispute and have a stepping stone to the primeministers position if everyone gets tired of the munching and listless Yusuf Raza Gilani...other options open to Zardari and teh army are shah mahmood qureshi and an interchange with the position of chief minister of punjab..although shabaz or even nawaz sharif might be good primeminister options it would take a revolutionary to go for an opposition man as primeminister...The NRO has played strange tricks and those who escaped victimisation are now opposing it seeing the PPP's inability to start teh accountability of the previous regime at any level...many however say that teh NRO's job is done and the new NAB law should take its place...teh NAB was only successful in getting back some defaulting loans...others say that aitezaz ahsan has better political, organizing and even terrorist skills which are undermining teh ill reputed Asif ZardariNov6-2009--with numerous people left and right having benefited from the NRO the government after delaying the NRO agreed to provide a list of NRO beneficiaries and those who had gotten their loans written off...Yusuf Raza another partial beneficiary of the process got the payment of his family loan of Rs200 million taken in the mid eighties delayed for another ten years...many other beneficiaries are spread evenly amongst many political groups..the national assembly wanted especially to see whom musharaf had benefited by loan writeoffs...Nov6-2009--the government has been restricting coverage of terrorism to restrict sensationalism, undermining their governance and ridicule of teh army and policeNov6-2009--drone complications...pakistan does not seem to have any problems with india's anti pakistan attitude as it has been teh same continuous enmity which noone here can disregard however new entrants to power have misconceptions that take time to dissolve and recognize inherent regional realities and india's ability to fund or direct covert activities in teh regionNov6-2009--The UN Benazir commission seeks access to military and intelligence officers including pervez musharaf who many see as teh kingpin in a murder that may have been planned by musharaf and manmohan and carried out by indian controlled BaraNov6-2009--while politics is still possible in Gilgit Baltistan the PMLn's Nawaz sharif draws huge crowds in an area divided by sunni-shia-ismaili conflicts...Nov6-2009--Yusuf Raza's habit of signing autographs or approving applications (a technique of the old dictatorial systems) for mna's in the national assembly unnerves the PMLn and brings a PMLq women member to tears...Yusuf Raza has no way to demonstrate his dwindling authority but should not disturb teh decorum of teh Nationa Assembly...the PPP isolated from its following now ruling thru advertisements which was a much critisized method perfected by pervaiz elahi..Nov6-2009--almost similar amounts of tea imported by afghanistan and pakistanNov5-2009--two day rotating holidays for CNG stations and industries from
