- Dec11-2009-- In what is being seen as a way out for the government... long seen as unable to govern... still resisted either naming ministers to key empty positions and only reshuffled three ministers and seven secretaries...many suggest ministers unhappy with their ministrys have been given new assignments...Ijaz Jakhrani seen as lacking the intellect at the ministry of health has been shifted to sports while teh dawn says that Aftab Shah Jilani has been shifted to interprovincial coordination to make way for jakhrani or for his anti indian attitude...Yusuf raza gilani and asif zardari known to harbour pro indian sentiments...while makhdoom shahabuddin who was overshadowed by the planning commission has taken over teh health ministry...one empty slot has been filled and another created...many suggest that yusuf raza gilani may have won his battle with the party chief...
- Dec11-2009-- The government apparently pleaded at the SC hearing on the NRO to restrict itself to teh constitutionality of the NRO rather than give a broad based decision covering all issues involved ie distributing government largesse to teh blue eyed...it is like telling the people that free tractors to the agricultural landlords will help then get cheaper food...the government basically wants the judges to say the case is basically over as the NRO no longer exists..while others feel that sending people to jail is meant to correct wrong attitudes and suffer for wrongdoings...yusuf raza gilani feels that his being in jail is some sort of badge of honour...what teh judges should tell politicians is that everyone who transgresses political boundaries of greed has to suffer...!!

- Dec11-2009-- while the US wants pakistan to accept just indian noises on kashmir asif Zardari wants them to mediate who one must say is a bit naive since the US has over decades just been the voice of india in all regional disputes...The US unable to even talk straight to the indians on any issue does not know their long history of overtures to teh US and than jumping into the russian laps all over again...The US which has shown a longing like china for the opening of indian markets has had military exercises in laddakh and is really not an unbiased country as far as pakistan is concerned...pledging friendship and aid one day and acting teh bully teh next is teh usual US attitude towards pakistan...Obama who praised teh necessity of war while taking the Nobel peace prize was being ridiculed by republican hangovers in his government who suggested that his 2011 withdrawal deadline from afghanistan is not a line in teh sand...
- Dec11-2009-- with 2600 people having died in terrorist attacks in pakistan over 2-1/2 years many wonder whether the incursions are being made into india/afghanistan or into pakistan...as US planes intruded into pakistan and drone attacks continued mchrystal contradicted mullen who said that he would go in and solve teh problem if pakistan did'nt by saying that there would be no hot pursuits...with everyone in teh US system having differing positions pakistan should worry and be ready for cross border attacks...

How it all started...coups and politics and islam and democracy...
how bhuttos got into politics in 1958...
debacle in Dacca
total humiliation...India had steadily destabilized east pakistan over twenty years playing on ethnic, financial, development and military concerns...pakistan was not that rich at that time and the ethnicists played on phsychosis generated by cyclones, floods, tea and jute...the army and west pakistani politicians could not accept a bengali dominated government and a small army contingent could not defend against the mukti bahini and the indians as teh US withdrew its support as usual...When teh going gets tough teh US chickens out as usual...!! The indians have continued teh same themes in karachi, sindh and balochistan but similar tougher responses have not allowed their success although pakistan is now at best a divided land with a pathetic center...!!While it left pakistan numb at the time many now feel the seperation was a proper solution as east pakistanis did not get along with pakistan and they would be better able to solve their problems with india...others still pine away for the lost land of rivers, tea and jute...others suggest that india should handover kashmir in exchange...while some still want to repatriate those considered pakistanis and left stranded in bangladeshi camps...others however heave a sigh of relief as teh problems with the remaining provinces are generally insoluble.....and ethnic regionalism or provincialism mixed with economic and racial nonsense is not a pleasant mode of politics anyway...
