Aug15-2026--The idea of more provinces seems rooted in two things...karachi and dividing, demoting and minimizing Punjab...Punjab had been successful until the federation reduced its development budget by half...so basically it is the anti Punjab lobby...upto now it was only southern Punjab now they want a third Punjab province...Baluchistan is by space too big for even two provinces...KP is seen by many as tribal and the rest...i would suggest that Peshawar and tribal areas makeup one province...Swabi and Hazara the second and the rest the third...as for Sindh they are frightened of Sindhis and only want docile Karachi to become centrally administered...Sindh too should be divided into three to keep things proportional...i see the biggest problem is not allowing local bodies which in essence solved many problems...as long as local bodies existed until 2018...almost all Rawalpindi problems were solved...than in the PTi era no work was done in Rawalpindi..as soon as they left road projects were started...now again u see potholed streets and heaps of garbage...The Turkish garbage cleaning company was very good...in the start the locals seemed able to manage it however over time you now find dirty littering around the garbage containers and garbage heaps also now in places

Aug1-2026--The need for a reset in government seems to suggest a troublemaking approach by the military and the interior minister...Pakistan has suddenly become dysfunctional says the Shiite Mohsin Naqvi and has a preference for PPP oldtimers than others...the interior minister is a PPP man and he probably wants age old leaders removed so that he can grab the leadership...PPP leadership has not changed much and top leaders have been around for decades...As for the military aging leaders might need tobe replaced with fresh younger blood too...the opposition has just one leader an aging beemar(ill-almost blind) jailbird...so it seems that the loss in AJK has inspired the PPP to suggest that governance is in trouble or that the system is not workable/working according to the PPP desires...the PTI still thinks it has a large following and is unlikely to play second fiddle whatever happens in the possible release/or not which is thought tobe the other reasoning for a reset... the PTI unlikely to propel PPP into power...the PMLn requires little from them now and can survive a political divide...we doubt that PPP will step away from their 'we can oppose when we want mode' they have a president and two governors at stake who are not too cooperative anyway...the only new province that has provincial support is Hazara in Kp which can be divvied up into three more provinces along the line of failed governance...having more provinces might decrease political upheavals/grievances but it will also cost much more and given pakistani politicians not much more is expected tobe achieved from the inexperienced lot that will arrive...!controlling four provinces is easier than say 15-20 provinces or eight..at least the current setup is based on something while just an administrative system would have no control mechanism...one can only see some respite in KP's tribal areas if they were again separated into a province or autonomous zone...It seems tobe indian orchestration which has succeeded just like the JAAC...India has avoided trouble by just dividing states at will on a government bill...a constitutional change of that magnitude is impossible...The CDF might love Bilawal but there are no takers for a reset apart from habitual troublemakers
