• Sep30-2014--three judge SC bench probing the constitution on whether it can question statements made in the national assembly...litigants say Nawaz Sharif lied to parliament and defamed the army chief when he said he that had not made the army chief a mediator or a guarantor in PTI-PMLn talks...army has earlier performed this task in different circumstances...army chief did initiate process but the PTI/PAT were probably not willing to accept such intervention in which army chiefs orders would be final...litigants want primeminister tobe disqualified under certain constitutional articles whose validity is said tobe applicable prior to elections...however an article under which a primeminister can be voted out probably will stand its ground...theoretically uptill now the SC has not questioned what is said in the national assembly...although many say the legality of certain actions can be questionable...PPP also moving court asto whether the speaker national assembly can delay accepting resignations

• Sep30-2014--Rangers say mqm groups killing each other while some suggest that they participate in sectarian warfare against sunnis...Recent Rangers attack on Mqm office to foil kill planning many say...mqm offices seem quite suspect with numerous huge flat screen televisions which many say are used to identify killing targets...while Rangers have targeted religious groups mostly to allay mqm fears...mqm which is generally shiite in orientation says that everyday two shiites are killed in karachi and Rangers have been unable to nab the culprits...mqm legislators refuse to believe that their organisation is largely regarded as behind most of the killings in karachi for the last two decades...mqm not willing to tolerate any opponent who can organize a sizeable vote bank...while things have eased in the ongoing karachi sectarian-ethnic-religious warfare mqm refuses to accept that the operation has caused any change...there have already been sixteen bank heists in karachi this year and that points to difficulties in the politicos getting funds thru extortions/kidnappings...

• Sep28-2014--a further administrative division of sindh into four is considered a losing cause as the provincial assembly and sindhis have rejected it...mohajirs should accept the status quo and work on non ethnic lines for any real future success...administratively sindh is already divided into numerous districts and the mqm should learn to work with the deputy commissioners or any furture local governments...many feel that the mqm or altaf hussein is the only political miscreant working on non issues rather than be willing to come, live and honestly work in pakistan...pakistan has been disrupted long enough on these lines of provincial and ethnic tensions and not much political mileage can be gained anylonger from these issues...
  
• Sep28-2014--Dawn suggests that both dharna's are on there way out of Islamabad as the government on military advice is suggesting missile tests to increase its dwindling credibility along with the falling rupee...many felt that both were mocking the voters who felt that their votes were genuinely given...after literally destroying the 2013 elections credibility and having set in motion pro and opposing court cases the dharna's should have been on their way out celebrating at least a virtual victory in subduing a resurgent Nawaz Sharif who now seems tobe the head of a dead government frightened of even uttering a word on the issue...Imran Khan has already setup two rallies as if he is on the way to another election...many in the Qadri camp are disappointed and are leaving for eid...The situation is now more in control with the government literally looking on to see how the various court cases turnout...The dharna's and government could be charged for contempt under an LHC judgement while the SC can decide to go either way on many issues...The administration and police in islamabad are now under the control of the deputy commissioner while the dharnas's effect in Islamabad has waned to a minimum...The media's too are tired as it has gone way beyond without any real reconciliation or decision...PTI rallies were a much better turn on than the dirty smelly dharna's think the PTI...in a way the dharna's have battered Nawaz Sharif but he is still standing and has not been knocked out...The 2013 elections in peoples estimates have still survived the worst possible credibility test and hopefully the next elections whenever they are held will not be that challenge-able by the losers...! Many feel that the dharna's worked on the same basis as western and indian agencies by making the people feel at loss as the credibility of whatever they did was questioned into the dust making the country look financially unviable, corrupt and having a deep belief in negative practices...

• Sep27-2014--while peshawar fast bowlers have shown better skills this year the 37 year old Younis khan is perturbed at being dropped from the one day squad...a person who who seems unsteady with being an authority figure he resigned as a captain from the test and 2020 teams...while his age and skills are said tobe better suited to the test side he was being re-inducted into the faster brand of cricket...however the present selection committee seems tobe going for personal favorites such as Umar Amin whose credentials are considered doubtful by many...pakistan's top order in one day cricket has been woefully inadequate...

• Sep25-2014--whether the government has learned its lessons or not since it is widely regarded as being unable to understand the peoples problems or interests...Ishaq Dar the architect of tariff raises now says that the government is not raising electricity prices...load shedding another unending problem is at an altime high with almost 8-10 hour load sheddings in rawalpindi...many have questioned the governments attitude when it requested a gas tariff of over 12 cents ,diesel tariff of over 41 cents and furnace oil tariff of over 26 cents for the nandipur power station whose cost has soared to Rs.90 billion(over $847million)which is pretty exorbitant when it is being purchased from the chinese whose equipment prices are considered the lowest...!gas tariffs in bangladesh are 4 cents for US supplied power plants...!

• Sep24-2014--In a move typical of the US antagonism specifically against sunni muslims the US pounded areas inside syria which are at best a part of the nascent sunni state called ...Islamic State...a red herring given its formative status the US airforce and navy mounted over fifty attacks killing around fifty fighters...This places the US clearly against sunni's and in line with shiite Iran, Hezbollah and the syrian administration...The IS has taken over a wide swathe of territory in syria, iraq and kurd areas...many regard it as an ofshoot of alqaeda but doubt US propaganda that the fighters belong to the Taleban...they are probably mostly arabs from syria, iraq and surrounding territories...with the IS attempting to take over the Sunni heart of an otherwise shiite ruled area most arab states are not really worried and the only real problems they create are for syria, iraq and turkey which has been flooded with new kurd syrians...The US has forced the arab moderates to visibly support them but they seem tobe only watching what happens...This is the third such attack on a muslim region or country in recent times...earlier attacks on afghanistan and iraq resulted in US invasions...the US has already been bombing IS area in iraq..The US has not bombed other militant organisations such as the iranian supported hezbollah(lebanon and syria) and Huthis in yemen...which makes the US specifically opposed to only sunni's...The US which has been practising non involvement in ukraine, libya, syria, yemen and egypt must be really frightened of the IS...earlier the US has bombed libya and put troops in lebanon in other arab conflicts
  
• Sep24-2014--on the day the new corp commander peshawar and new ISI chief names were announced the Taleban attempted a high profile terrorist incident by attacking the convoy of the KP FC DIG...his pajero was a hit by a suicide car killing five and destroying three vehicles...literally in the center of the cantonment...The attack has come after the taleban seemed to have become subdued by negotiations, Zarb e arab and internal conflicts that emerge after a leadership conflict...however the sajna group from south waziristan seems to have rejoined with mulla fazluulah...mamy suggest that the dharna's which are attacking the legitimacy of the government seem on the verge of failure and that could be motivation as well as restating their strengths...An SC judge in a move that could prove tobe problematic for the 2013 Sharifs has asked the CJ to club together all 2013 Election related cases

• Sep23-2014--Rizwan Akhter the pro mqm Sindh Rangers chief gets the prized position of ISI chief...despite a terribly mismanaged karachi operation which saw him dealing with mqm opponents in various religious factions...however as he left his post the politically motivated killing in karachi restarted as many felt that killers in political groups such as the MQM and PPP were not dealt with...Raheel Sharif did not shift any senior Lt General and appointed the six newly promoted Lt.Gen's to the empty positions...giving Ghayur Mahmood the key position of the Gujranwala corp a motorized and tank corp termed a strike corp...Naveed Mukhtar got the prized karachi corp where he will have more political problems than military...apparently the previous corp commander got involved in rivalry with Bahria over a disputed flyover..he also becomes the head of the DHA which many think should start new developments in smaller cantonments rather than focus on upscale cities for the karachi rich...unknown idayatur Rehman from the northern areas gets the peshawar corp which is embroiled in a terrorist war to end a long running Fata terrorist movement...most of the new breed of Lt generals have experience of dealing with politico-guerrilla-area-terrorist wars(internal warfare) and are not probably as used to fighting a real conventional war...many feel that the army is not very accustomed to dealing with guerrilla type tactics and a guerrilla warfare school should be started which teaches the various known tactics that are used against political and internal terrorism ...while the replacement for the Sindh Rangers chief was announced almost two months ago the new ISI chief will have to takeover in 10 days...

• Sep20-2014--many in Nawaz Sharifs position would have resigned despite his caricature of dharna's as an attempted lashkar toppling..however despite the support that he has unnaturally received from parliament he has been characterized as a primeminister who is incapable of dealing with an abnormal situation...he looks as if he does not know what to do as all the other characters also donot know what to do...the IHC judge has now ordered the deputy commissioner to handle the issues of security and when police should act to restrain the uncontrollable protestors...Imran and Qadri are pathetic as leaders as they say they cannot control their followers...
  
• Sep20-2014--while the PPP has also kept murmuring about dhandli not many think that the party could have garnered many more votes given their lacklustre five year rule in which they could not tackle the taleban or the judiciary their only problems from start to finish apart from hajj and rental power corruption...they also got a primeminister convicted for refusing to accept SC orders in the SGS-swiss corruption of the zardaris...the situation probably only different in the characters involved as imran's dharna for the sharifs tobe removed...many will be looking at how Bilawal Zaradri explains the running away of the PPP from the polls and why they were frightened of the Taleban...many believe that the army was restrained by the PPP from acting against the Taleban although many see the otherwise ineffective Nawaz Sharif as relatively successful against the taleban although in a topsy turvy way
  
• Sep20-2014--many see something strange in imran khan who said he would never leave the dharna in dashing off to karachi...many suggest that he too needs an angioplasty...he is over 62...! others suggest he wanted to see one of the retiring pro PTI corp commanders or look over the possibly new ISI chief(looking for a plan to somehow hoodwink the police and occupy the primeminister house)...others suggest that Nawaz Sharif is definitely going as he has arranged to get himself acquitted from three corruption references...many are again blaming the retiring Lt general's five of them in early October as well as the ISI chief for the uneasy handling of the problematic dharna...many suggest that promoting paramilitary chiefs given the unsteady nature of the country might not be a good idea...an ISI chief should be a careful studious person given the nature of his desk based job( zaheer ul islam even took to wearing suits rather than his military uniform) ...!paramilitary chiefs get used to the daily operations(on the borders or the provinces)...kill this ...kill that...attitude and might not be that good as corp commanders or ISI chiefs...given the situations in at least three provinces only paramilitary chiefs would have to be promoted as they see most of the action apart from the karachi, peshawar and quetta corp commanders...usually the DGMI and DGMO are sure shots at promotions but they seem tobe not acquitting themselves too well as are the directors at the ISI...The ISI chief is usually someone with a long history of association with the ISI as usually nobody knows whether an army officer is a professional or an undercover(ISI-wala)...The daily Dawn mentions Lt gen Javed Iqbal Ramday, Maj gen Rizwan Akhter, Maj gen Naveed Mukhtar , Lt gen Obaidullah khattak, Lt gen Ikram Ul haq and Lt gen Zamirul Hasan as possible ISI chief appointees...
  
• Sep20-2014--In what many say is the mean, selfserving and unsteady nature of the mqm...whenever the country is in trouble they come out with issues that are only popular amongst themselves...while altaf hussein wanted 150 provinces his key terrorist ally Rizvi just wanted an administrative adjustment(musharaf era type) for karachi...administrations are run by the beaurocracy and not politicians...we already have around 130 districts...with politicians being immature and undependable many seem to prefer deputy commissioners now...given too much power things start behaving like karachi where everybody else barring the mqm have been destroyed...there is no opposition ethnic group or normal opposition and literally everyone was an mqm official in the karachi administration too with altaf hussein behaving as an erratic king/killer in chief and even the mayor behaving like a defacto primeminister and going on US visits...!somebody else wanted just 27 provinces designed on the divisions which would make karachi the biggest sooba...many suggest that unless all resources are collected by the center and than distributed to the tiny provinces equally such a system would only be successful in karachi with the rest of the country squirming with uneasiness and unhappiness...provincialisation in pakistan has never been too successful...!...the dharna's which see two supposed leaders from lahore just like nawaz sharif hogging the media has caused further disquite at the punjabs domination of everyday politics and media as well...that has made the farsi speaking Bilawal Zardari to suggest that he too is coming up with his dhandli politics..he seems to have seen a pool of dirty water for the first time in his life much less jumped into one...many believe that such silver spoon politicians take a long time to understand even the basics of the country...when u cant run four provinces will u be able to run 27 or 150 or even a hongkong type karachi...many suggest that it would be much easier to divide karachi ethnically into say three units...!administratively and politically we are the worst country in the world unable to handle situations without going to extremes...

• Sep17-2014--while pakistan has literally controlled its taleban... afghanistan is again blaming the small group called the punjabi taleban which many regard as having lost most of its fighters in Fata thru drone attacks...unless afghanistan clears itself of the many groups that are infesting it...it will not succeed. US-India type attitudes will have little effect on pakistan...a group of militants attacked across the border from afghanistan losing eleven militants while three soldiers were killed...
  
• Sep17-2014--many are critisizing the USA for not ending its involvement in islamic countries by going against the relatively unimportant IS...if the iraqis cant handle them than it would be better to divide iraq into three...the shiites are generally obnoxious to the sunnis and have caused the problem...when the US did not bomb them in syria which is also shiite ruled than why do it in iraq...it is usually not a good precedent to set for the US which has tried to form a european coalition against the sunni fighters...fighting a dissident group in a third country which literally has nothing to do with the US...It is almost similar to the US fighting a few hundred alqaeda men in pakistan and afghanistan...
  
• Sep17-2014--Imran Khan has called for reducing the daily expenditure of the president and prime minister from 20 /21 lakhs per day...one wonders what the politically unimportant president spends such a huge amount on...many question the Nawaz Sharif choice for the presidency...the shoe seller seems to have no influence or peddling/meddling powers...

• Sep16-2014--many feel that despite the oxford education Imran Khan sees himself as more of a guerrilla leader than a decent reform minded politician lying and threatening away...eg u cannot build dams in flat charsadda...despite having lived most of his life in the upper quarter economically...threatening to kill and take away the jobs of poor policemen like an ordinary urdu medium ruler...The people are again being fooled by an english medium type...the guerrila tag comes after imran and his guards attacked a police vehicle carrying a few arrested PTI types near rawal dam and forcibly freed them...!police also many say surrounded imran khans home with 1500 sipahi's but backed out from arresting him...while qadri attacks the pathetic sharifs...imran khan specializes in threatening policemen...many have also noticed how the PTI/PAT wala's almost behave like policemen themselves...others suggest that most of the imran-qadri demands have been met including an FIR against the primeminister for murdering three protestors...the islamabad police were not even armed...!others suggest that Imran Khan may have accepted the SC as a final arbiter although not in the chaudhry iftikhar mode...many suggest that in that case a suo moto process could be initiated to investigate Imran Khan allegations into dhandli thru a court appointed investigator as in the Arsalan graft case...others suggest that the SC could just in a four constituency case declare that prima facie dhandli existed and not even go into the details as demanded by the PTI...Imran Khan in one speech did say why do u ask for proof...which seems a bit pathetic...if imran khan ended his occupation of constitution avenue they could under article 90 say announce new elections in early 2015 under the usual process and even appoint an interim primeminister to handle the elections...!...many others suggest that the surprise appointment of the decaying Shahihd Afridi as T20 captain might have been one of the demands..others suggest that was a demand of the army chief who is an Afridi fan...afridi has almost lost his touch in batting and just rolls over the ball in his legspin...earlier his fast deliveries and occasional googlies were a treat to watch...many suggest that misbah has just saved his captaincy and had better improve his batting against the australians...a fifty and a few wickets against the australians in the lone t20 match could catapult afridi into the one day captainship although he had better be careful against the free hitting australians like Maxwell and Finch...the 150 provinces demand of pathetic foreigner altaf hussein falling by the wayside as it would only be acceptable if all provinces get an equal share in resources...although even the number of districts are probably less than 120...many suggest even the deputy commissioners in the old days controlled things better than the sharifs...if some disputes arose in say sixty provinces the imran khan dharna's would be taking place in sixty places although islamabad would become even more important...others suggest that one of the possible solutions could be LG elections countrywide with equitable distribution of resources by the provinces and the center...imran khans dharna has generally had little impact in the rural provinces...
