Mar15-2024--The frightened prime minister withdrew the nomination of Zafar Mahmood a former Wapda chief who was vehemently and nastily opposed by the Sindhis'...he is supposedly a supporter of dams like kalabagh...it is the dams that have regulated and increased water supply to Sindh and created Irsa...the new ordnance whether passed or not is generally correct in providing Irsa with various experts apart from nominating the federal nominee as the chairman...it also provides Irsa with a secretariat and an office...a rotating chairman technically has no benefit...it would be like kicking out Zardari from the presidency after 15 months and bringing in a say rotating kp president and so on...the need for Irsa is because of dams and if dams are not constantly built a time will come when there will be no water to distribute...because of the problems faced the need for geological, hydraulic and remote sensing experts is necessary for the smooth functioning of Irsa...while a non kalabagh supporter can be found it is technically based on confused illogical childish attitudes...Punjabi's generally support the kalabagh dam while the Wapda position has been that the government has to decide...however six dams including kalabagh were approved in the musharaf era around 2006...
Mar14-2024--another issue has arisen as the Punjab government has stopped visitors to Adiaala jail on the basis of security threats...as usual the PTi filed a court case rather than consulting the Punjab government first...The courts must make it a prerequisite that that they have at least talked to the person in charge or even the CM or PM before initiating a court case...however some top SIC officials and relatives were allowed into the jail including Aleema...
Mar14-2024--credit card use is on the increase they say...about 100 million transactions on Rast based ID cards...amounting toRs.2.3 trillion...mobile app-based transactions increased 29% to 280 million and internet banking transactions rose 15% to 57 million compared to the last quarter...mobile banking rose to Rs11trilllion and internet banking to Rs5.4 trillion...

Any complaints have tobe made to the ECP and election tribunals only...PTi mean and nasty and jealous and with dirty sleazy malicious propaganda of others seats winning methods have mounted a dubiously rigged anti rigging protest...protests of small groups took place all over the place suggesting that apart from KP people not even PTiwalas...did not think elections were rigged...according to one unheard of before pollster in KP 74% people thought elections were rigged...how about the Pti dissolving KP assembly and holding new polls...!
Mar11-2024--Things are always costly in Ramazan ...retailers and vendors and wholesale sellers all trying to mint money from the pious rozadars...here are seen trucks of bananas in Islamabad usually from Sindh being auctioned to vendors. Bananas are a popular fruit along with imported apples, various types of local and imported dates and guavas and kinoos and oranges...melons are also in the market this early...bananas of various sizes retail for Rs150-200 per dozen...even green chilies now sell for over Rs.300...in the old days the vegetable sellers would give some dhania(coriander) and green chillies with every sale...!
Mar10-2024--the dubious sugar tycoon Asif Zardari becomes president again with 411 votes against Achakzai's 190 votes...Zardari visibly seemed to have gotten a carbon peel/foundation plus hair plugs...! although looks more ganja than usual...previously he was only a PPP president...hopefully he will change and become Pakistan's president(for sindhis that is a very difficult transition)...mostly previous governments have gone for a mohajir president apart from the PPP

Mar 9-2024--prices of fruits and vegetables on the rise says Dawn...even though remittances rose 13% yoy...onions now at Rs250-300/kg. before 150/kg --out of 130 trucks 100 were exported in Karachi- imports from Iran/Afghanistan insignificant ....Potatoes Rs80 from Rs.50...cabbageRs150 fromRs80-100...green chilies Rs320 from Rs200...capsicum Rs400...spinach unchanged at Rs.80-100...melon Rs150-200...green/red apples Rs.200-250 /Rs.350-400...Bananas small/big Rs120/Rs.200 Guava Rs150-200...wholesale prices are much better and there is more looting at retail levels. a home gas cylinder is being sold at inflated prices of upto Rs4000... i think that maryan nawaz should distribute free ramzan goodies to every house and probably give a home gas cylinder to the poor...! Given the inflation and tariffs situation ...The PTi has left KP in dire straits as upto 10 percent of KP residents need financial or food help... KP restarts the free health card... and reopens charity food kitchens...people dont like purple irani onions but prefer the orange swati/afghan onions...!
Mar 9-2024--provincial assemblies call for a martyrdom certification of zulfikar ali bhutto officially...though the SC did not cancel the death sentence or abrogate... it would be the first case of a martyr who had been hanged for murder of another politician. Martyrdom of politicians who have public opposition or support is a strange process...upto now there have been only legal military and police martyrs...while this case could lead to say the mqm and other ethnic groups also seeking official martyrdom for their dead...for example a minister died in a car accident(could have been done by the Pti) in Islamabad recently...maybe politicians will also than want plots and payments for their martyrs as is done in the military...one suggests that such things will make things look at best as odd...Zulfikar ali Bhutto made mistakes...for example he was a coup plotter(in the same coup cabinet was imrans uncle) and advised that the JI could handle the Bengalis...Benazir Bhutto who died in action probably more of a martyr as she went to her death willingly/knowingly...however in her first speech after becoming PM she had said " Bhutto Zinda he..." what that meant is unclear...some suggest that Bhutto's DNA should be checked from his grave as many say he was actually relocated to India…!

The SC did not come to a real verdict which should have been a retrial if due process and fairness were not met...However, the Court went on to opine that there were constitutional and legal lapses and a fair trial was denied to Bhutto. But they could not change anything or it was not allowed under the rules...since it was a special case the court should have over ridden the rules....
That is very normal even in cases these days...therefore in a martial law regime such things should be considered tobe normal...bhuttos lawyers made a serious mistake in not attacking the evidence and went for a political defence which generally fails...
Mar9-2024--The IMF has urged that elections disputes be resolved amicably or fairly...previously they wanted a similarity or a stability in economic policies...election disputes are resolved mostly in courts, and they sometimes do take time...It is not possible for Islamabad to intervene in the cases most of the time as the cases are usually sub Judice...It is odd for the IMF to intervene in these issues and it had earlier before the elections met leaders of the main parties to urge similarity of views on economic policies and general political stability...the PTI is probably reminding the IMF of those meetings even though the attitude in writing to the IMF is considered at best inappropriate and illiteracy prone...the IMF had at that time indicated that the pti maybe more militant than once thought which has come true...! the IMF has suggested a willingness to a new economic program although historically no major change has been seen in IMF policies...the government seeks to renew the IMF program after April 2024. The IMF seems to have it in for the populace usually especially in tariffs...supposedly timely adjustments have seen tariffs jump from Rs.15 to Rs.60-75 and almost double in the gas segment too...which is hardly sensible...there has been at best no /any change in social safety nets and inflation has been almost steady in the upper/higher levels... i think the IMF does not see things in real terms ...Donors in the past year literally cancelled all safety nets created in the medical industry to see that some people can get free treatment and hospitalization and operations...in historical terms political instability has never been on an equal to economic instability until this recent period...most political instability only effects economics for small durations...just as an example is foreign remittances which have always been on the rise but have started being unstable due to inflation in relatively affluent or rich places...some Pakistani western commentators have noted the relatively bizarre IMF oratory...and also noted the doubling in the commitment to Egypt to $8 billion which has a military ruler...!
Mar9-2024--reserved seats challenges have been made in three high courts with one stopping oaths while oaths have taken place in other two assemblies ...this could be a fit case for the SC-suomotu and compiling all the complaints in the high courts into one case...!
Mar9-2024--CJP regrets baseless criticism of the senior judiciary...this is basically shocking as most complaints have some or other basis and one must encourage criticism as there is no other channel for informing about /against judge's behavior in public life specifically which has come in for most of the criticism...purchase and having multiple properties seems tobe one avenue coming in for criticism...The CJ should be cautious in attempting to block criticism...since his wife was accused of having multiple properties in England and instances of tax evasion...than was the case of a previous CJ enjoying costly paid holidays in Europe and then the present case of Judge Naqvi...none of these were frivolous and the people must be encouraged to come forward with such issues of/about judges...!whether judges want to explain their conduct in public or not that is their own choice...!
Mar8-2024--PTi continues to pound the form 45 tampering while knowing that u cannot win on some problem in one form...there have been around three forms on the internet that may have been tampered...other groups have backed out of sheer embarassment...The ECP should ask its RO or polling officers to explain publically why that has occured ...otherwise the ECP can recount the numbers and redecide who has won...a few seats here and there does not matter much and such things could also have occurred in the nearly 200 seats won by the PTI...The ECp can easily go thru all forms and ask the polling officers to revize them if there are discrepancies...i saw one form on which there was a revized stamp...The PTi which is literally anti Pakistan and does not want to give up anything that is malicious and embarrasses the ECP or polling officers or Pakistan...!
Mar8-2024--The CJ refuses to back down from his stances and has now declared a retired judge mazhar ali naqvi guilty of misconduct...the judge had retired a day before the SJC took up the complaint...at best the government can forfeit the judges pension and perks as he had already resigned...five other judges were letoff in internal hearings while one judge was asked to file a response..the SJC has decided to look into about a 100 complaints against judges...mazhar had several complaints of a similar type about one property in which a developer paid 50 million for him...while two other complaints were that the developer gave his son pounds 5000 which was not returned and his children were given favours of lowered rent on properties...apparently the developer said that he owed the judge 50 million on acquiring his jhang properties...
Mar7-2024--Pakistan's army chief and Prime minister are usually on opposite sides of the desk as well as opponents in many a policy...The army chief had already ordered FBR reform a generally meaningless process...while taxes/revenues have increased dramatically government still wants more and more...The current PM seems to suggest that he will continue the policies of the caretakers being technically brainless himself...one would suggest that he take along the parliament in his economic policies at least...as he has scant regard for the populace going by his previous stint...apparently he/Coas wants Aurangzeb of the Habib bank as his advisor who being a expatriate wants a one window policy. A economist is usually better than a banker...expatriates find it difficult to run around and get issues resolved...!the governments generally demonstrate an inability to handle things economically such as privatization...one suggests that although the private sector does not show much praiseworthy expertise the government should sell military industries, the power sector and everything lying around that it cannot run...in recent times the government had a tendency to sell things like land and tourist hotels to the army...The army should go for bigger more difficult stuff like Discos's...or perhaps even an airline...

Mar7-2024--maulana fazlu says armies respect not as a decision maker...however army work is respected and in some cases it is better too...for example army lt. generals handled the covid organization and cleaning of karachi nullahs in the imran era...the two ie. army chief and isi chief routinely were found sitting in the sun on sofas at imrans banigala palace...! what were they doing there all the time...defending the country...!in recent occurrences fazlu and khawaja asif suggested that they were ordered to remove imran in a benign way...however even after the removal the generals arrived to meet imran at midnight on his leaving day...!however the no trust had been in the works for over two years which imrans spy fazlu kept reporting to him on...imran thought it was blackmail but it was only a difference of opinions until they agreed...
Mar7-2024--Imran says he only wants a audit in four seat cases and he mentioned only three...the PTI while saying that a whopping 90 seats form 45's had been tampered with but the tampering shown as examples did not suggest that the win or loss could have been changed by that tampering...actually form 47 defines a winner...The PTI has won over 180 seats but they could not even find one in which their own winners had been tampered with...!simply a matter of addition can be handled even by a lower court in a matter of minutes...only one form has been shown tobe tampered and not all form45's on a particular constituency...and in not even one case have they suggested the final total was changed due to the tampering..The PTI is prone to malicious propaganda on an international basis and they should check their winners too if tampering is so common...Imran suggests after getting bail in may9 that everyone involved and pictured should be sentenced...Imran himself had approved and had stated so that such violence would take place and one does not know why he has been given bail when he was behind the organisation of the violence and arson...eg...nobody believes a Pti lahore leader who said that "Dr yasmin the punjab pti president said burn the corp commanders residence" and two PTI mna's shot dead two workers at their residence while the lahore vice president of the PTI ran over PTI's own worker...it was reported that imran had asked the vice president to create some sort of issue...it is also necessary to explain that according to the law election results cannot be protested and any complaint has tobe made to the eCP or election triBunals...!
Mar7-2024--In a surprising decision the CJ said that ZAbhutto had not been treated according to the constitution in his death sentence hearings but they could not change the decision...theoretically a review of a case that took place in 1977-79 would only take place if there was new information...just saying that the process had flaws is tantamount to personal bias..the court did not rule if there was enough evidence... and why a new trial cannot be ordered...no clear constitutional flaw has been outlined even though many issues had not been dealt with in the trial...just as an example nobody really knows what was the function of the FSF or whether bhutto had ordered other murders too...!
Mar7-2024--The PHC a biased court orders stay of oaths for new reserved seat MNa's from KP..There was no reason for the stay as the court if it ordered so would have cancelled the reserved seats...there is no reason given why the reserved seats cannot be allocated to other parties when they are unable tobe allocated to SIC who did not file a list...!
Mar6-2024--The PMLn became the largest party in the national assembly with 123 seats and the PPP with 73...the JUIf now totals 11...the Mqm(p)--22, Ipp--4...of 99 independents 9 did not join the SIC...so SIC has either 89 seats with another three PTi backed...SIC candidates have got 91-92 votes...!PMLq has 5...
Mar6-2024--The military in a carefully worded rejection of PTI politics says that they reject even the notion of polls interference. They say the accusations against the military of political interference is unfounded and stressed that grievances should be resolved thru normal channels...instead of destabilizing rhetoric...they called the PTI a vested small political/social media segment and their allegations unsubstantiated and highly deplorable......this came out of the 263 Corp commanders conference...!They also vowed to bring May9 miscreants (mostly only from PTI) to book...

Mar5-2025--CJ winds up review of bhuttos death sentence...nothing substantial was brought up and the Cj quickly wound it up when someone wanted to know what was the FSF's function...The CJ seems to think that it was a matter of bhutto's dignity and not whether the state ordered a murder at the very top...many now think that Bilawal is the son and pota of murderers...!
Mar5-2024--the IMF little baby shebaz sharif takes oath as prime minister and orders again another meaningless episode of IMF...apparently they now want a $6 billion package...The government could easily have avoided that by remaining within the domains of its revenues/means and going to the extent of reducing provincial allocations/development and even if necessary pruning the defence budget of needless things like the DHA - delaying/reducing pensions to a minimum...there is already a spate of overproduction in elite housing...the government usually has no money for development or provincial allocations for which it takes Rs6 trillion in internal loans annually...The government should just limit itself to completing two main dams before starting any further outlays for which loans maybe required...Pakistan has become used to looking for foreign loans for its development needs...

Mar5-2024--The ECP as expected refused the reserved seats to the SIC as it had not filed a list for it before the elections...however some saw controversy (which the PTI sees in everything) inits allocation to other parties...thus the parties in the KP assembly in the opposition may become normal looking with the addition of KP's reserved seats...both in the center and the province...The PTI should have joined a party which had filed a reserve list as there is no point now of having joined the SIC...still joining a party with a reserved list may get them the reserved seats...! ie possibly...!
