Feb12-2023--IMF made fun of the government funding/subsidies of rich sectors like bussinessmen, industrialists, exporters and agriculture plus the armed forces...whether the IMF wanted to increase electricity tariffs for those using 300 units is unclear as they are to some degree deserving...however they failed to convince the IMF of their intentions and now have started a Rs170 billion resource mobilisation to convince them..a case might also be initiated against Shaukat Tarin for working against the government...the first time Shaukat Tarin came into government he left and started his own bank with help from the japanese and IFC...under the PTI he returned in exchange for being made a senator...!now he blackmails the PDM...jokingly the billionaire terrorist Imran aka friend of TTP will fund the ECP for the punjab provincial elections..The ECp apparently is studying the instructions to it from various dubiously motivated others to announce dates for elections...otherwise nobody is going to help the ECp with manpower and funds or security...one doubts that the ECp has the ability to hold elections under such circumstances...probably they should go to court to get the LHC/SHC to order the government to finance them, provide vehicles for transport, the army to provide security and the judiciary to provide manpower...!The government also refused to buy/provide them 1000 vehicles for transport...IMF may have probably noticed that people living in tents or katcha houses have solar sells...

Feb8-2023--Imran is turning into a tumbling washing machine making new accusations and statements on Bajwa almost everyday..it seems that there was no Pti government at all and Bajwa was the defacto ruler of the PTi...as for Nawaz Sharif making a deal with Bajwa it seems far fetched...there were various factions in the PMLn and Nawaz Sharif decided to go with Bajwa...on the extension...now technically Nawaz Sharif , Maryam Nawaz and Imran are supposedly opposed to Bajwa who apparently has got numerous plots in his tenure as army chief...Maryam Nawaz should forget about Bajwa and the dubious judiciary and get on with getting the PMLn rank and file ready for the next elections...There is not much that imran or others can do about the military and they should wait tobe in government before clipping their wings...Imran should not forget that he personally broke with Bajwa on the ISI chief appointment and left Bajwa free to become a neutral and eliminate any pressure on the PMLn/PPP to tolerate his government...imrans allies were tired of him and nobody had to push anyone of them to break with him...
Feb8-2023--The PTi seems tobe filing idiotic court cases many suggest...There is nothing in the constitution about free and fair elections...The ECp just has to conduct elections and any objection to the results has tobe in the form of a plea to an election tribunal...as for the date of an election there is nothing in the constitution about the governor or the president announcing a date...there is just one line saying dissolution of a provincial assembly entails elections in 90 days...that leaves only the ECP in charge of an election date and whether they can hold elections in a given security situation...The ECP should therefore announce an election date or not...for the provincial elections as they do in the case of by elections...a presidential notification is making the rounds which makes reference to incorrect constitutional articles...and makes a dubious claim of ordering around the ECP which is an independent organization.
Feb7-2023--An LHC judgement tells government to allow electricity subsidy to domestic consumers who use upto 500 units and base tariffs on what people can afford...he wants power companies to share subsidy costs with high end users...another report suggests that govt has already agreed to buy new hydel outputs at 10-11(Rs32) cents and wind turbines output at 8-9 cents..leaving solar and lets say old hydel and nuclear as the cheaper alternatives...The anti people dumb governments will probably soon increase the prices of electricity to Rs40-50...

Feb7-2023--In what maybe becoming government policy governors of KP and Punjab both agree that holding seperate elections would be too costly and wasteful and elections will be held together in Oct/Nov..law minister Nazir Tarrar says that no constitutional amendment needed to delay elections in provinces beyond 90 days...and that governors should just need solid arguments...probably that of nearing financial collapse and stopping waste is probably enough of an argument..The PTi on the other hand is starting to be uneasy at having lost two assemblis for nothing...Imran trying the 'jail bharo tehreek' is hardly going to be frightening...we suggest that he himself should court jail rather than his party...That leaves the court cases on delaying an election date...if the courts order a date or suggest that alvi announces the date... the government could appeal and pass an amendment in a day...with 23 days having passed since dissolution...the government could simply pass an amendment that elections can be delayed for a year in difficult circumstances or financial difficulty...imran should try the unconditional approach in attending the anti terror conference on the 9th...he supposedly now is asking for a formal invitation...while it might be a great achievement for the central government for imran to attend a terror conference it could show that imran has a new found maturity and is confident of his public support even if provincial elections take place in November...!..or even a year later...!
Feb4-2023--Harsh conditions offered by the IMF almost impossible to implement...the people using less than 300 units are already suffering extreme inflation and ending them might be something that they will come out to protest and riot...high end users already pay for the subsidies not the government...higher oil prices has reduced consumption substantially as sales have fallen 19% over first seven months...car sales are almost zero with the Suzuki Cultus top model priced at 33 lakhs and the Alto at around 20 lakhs...car production has fallen because of unavailability of dollars for import of CKD kits...the rupee in the open market surging to 283...the power sector circular debt is not because of consumers but because the government is refusing to pay for oil...it should make producers responsible for fuel...and because it subsidizes the military, agriculture and industrial sectors...the domestic power consumption is around 30%...while domestic users pay up to Rs.34 the military runs away with it at Rs8...agriculture and industry pay less than Rs20...unrestricted imports and uncontrolled dollar rate of no benefit to Pakistan...Nathan Porter must be crazy if he suggests that we should allow unrestricted imports when our dollar reserves are near zero...The government revenues could be Rs7.7 trillion and the IMF wants them raised to Rs10 trillion to payoff specifically the power sector circular debt...such a massive increase in revenues could mean an increase in taxation by 25% and almost wholesale inflation..The IMF also wants government officers to file assets declarations...the IMF should study wealth distribution and there is not too much in the vaults of military officers or government officers...who just make enough to meet retirement costs...!military officers however do get to own multiple high value up market residences due to government subsidies...it is such subsidies that the IMF should target...and maybe reduce the military/provincial/repayment budgets by 3 trillion...!The government should reduce its size rather than increase it...
