Sep11-2009--Asif Zardari who is becoming controversial as he usually only sees one side of a picture...forgetting that teh baloch continue to kill innocents he wants an amnesty for a few without anything in return...pakistan needs a quid pro quo of undying loyalty and patriotism in return otherwise a few years down teh line another group will go on a killing spree..will u give them autonomy too...autonomy will solve nothing... neither more federal resources unless the money is spent for the betterment of teh people...when teh baloch can neither afford electricity or food than how can their situation improve..giving thousands of acres of agricultural land to benefit foreigners will not help...distribute the land amongst balochis and tell them to work it for their own benefits.....teh consequences of such policies will not result in any permanent peace...money to provincial governments that do nothing for the peopel and supposed autonomy for politicians to enforce a tribal dictatorship on unhappy balochis can hardly be a formula for success...teh same sort of autonomy was given to Fata with terrible consequences...The limitation of being pakistani have tobe enforced...what control the federal govenment has over a province barring sending in the army is unclear...

Sep11-2009--In what seems tobe a covert campaign to build up a pariah coup plotter the dawn prints a number of articles trying to create an unholy picture of the most crooked general that teh pakistan army has ever produced...living it up in england on apparent saudi, US and pakistani government contributions....teh general called a good son of india by vajpayee is trying to change his image of an american indian agent who sold pakistan out of fright on just one phone call...pakistan has been living the terrible consequences ever since...

Sep11-2009--the punjab finance minister says that punjab only getting 47% resources versus a 57% population...since most resources are population based punjab forcing division on that stance...other provinces have already carved out seperate resource allocation demands with sindh said tobe teh prime looter...nwfp wants huge hydel royalties ...balochistan vying for gas surcharges...and sindh saying teh collection office is in sindh...all the smaller provinces have built spurious cases of how their resources have been lost/ looted/denied while punjab has been unable to build up any case being described by everyone as teh bully but who is being suppressed or treated as an under dog lackey who can be pushed around by the PPP regime

Sep11-2009--with iraq increasingly looking like a peaceful state many argue that the US has succeeded in destabilizing a relatively peaceful pakistan and making it more reliant on its need for aid and weapons...pakistan however is only trying to get second hand equipment due to a strong indian lobby frightened of even pakistani torpedoes and second hand humvees from iraq which the technologically backward or poor pakistanis consider highly sophisticated...

Sept1-2009--Nawaz Sharif again tries to get teh government some support from their own lobbies who have been extremely disappointed with gilani and zardari...he gives the government a 48 hour ultimatum to stop spreading propaganda...teh culprit may well be yusuf raza gilani who many see as a crooked politician now after teh revelation that ADB loans to his wife in 1984 have not been returned...alongwith raja ashraf many see their hand in teh till not withstanding the open corruption of giving away 12.5% OGDC shares without payment...The PPP and mqm are using former spooks to suggest that nawaz sharif got millions in payments in the runup to the IJI elections and for getting teh PPP regime toppled in 1992...dont they think that the over 6 billion in loans to the sharifs was enough or are they suggesting a few millions more to shut them up...

Aug29-2009--The NFC meeting suggests a wide variation in the demands of teh four provinces...punjab says it is the most neglected as it gets Rs4000 per person while even balochistan gets Rs6000 per person...nwfp and balochistan more interested in getting arrears on controversial aspects..which are difficult aspects as where the arrears will be generated from is unknown unless they want the people tobe robbed further which is closer to Tarins views who wants the anti people policy of increased taxation and further price hikes...under the present system punjabs huge population is taxed more than any other province and even that is being claimed by other provinces...basically teh NFC has to decide how to divide around 38 % of revenues which was initially done on the basis of population alone...bringing in other criteria will not change the ratio very much..42.5-24-20-13.5 could be an acceptable ratio..the federal government could agree to divide the whole 50-50 with teh provinces which could increase the amounts available...

Aug27-2009--The person since he is not a peoples representative in any sense heading teh NFC is a sindhi agent who bought his senate seat from sindh and thus has already a compromised nature......he has already given statements supporting teh sindh position of revenue share for collection even though sindh hardly spends anything on revenue collection and it is generally thought tobe a political ploy to defeat the punjab...while sindh is more developed and deliberately does not adequately share development funds between karachi and interior sindh its argument that population alone...should not be teh basis for division of resources...holds little reasoning...the higher the population teh bigger teh cities and teh more towns and villages, more problems and more funds needed for development...because of sindhs precarious position it has to spend everything in karachi leaving interior sindh to the vagaries of politics...Similarly in other provinces too teh spending is focused on capitals..division of resources on the basis of districts and their needs should be considered...balochistan wants focus on area 41%..punjab on population around sixty percent...nwfp wants the federal government to distribute 80% to the provinces and give it 140 billion in royalties...balochistan too wants royalties on gas...since past dues legal or not are almost impossible to consider teh NFC should only look into teh present situation...nwfp's royalty demands would raise electricity charges by another 20%...balochistans gas royalties demand would almost double gas prices...backwardness of areas in various provinces is teh only shared concern..the federal government is just creating more problems by seeking a 5% share for tax collection...obviously teh NFC exercise is literally doomed to failure even if punjab were to give away a few more percents of its share...nobody would be satisfied because the money has to come out of the peoples pockets... provinces and the federal government should sensibly reduce spending which is as usual not in any way helpful to teh people anywhere in teh country...nwfp also wants another 5% for militancy losses...Punjab should also play hard ball many say and not try to distribute its share to sindh...there is little or no sales tax collected from teh services sector...many suggest that all provinces be asked to collect taxes...that would not only increase local industrialisation but sindhs unjust demands would also be parried successfully...usually the PPP government being sindhi dominated will try to paper over demands and seek more of punjabs share for distribution to the three poor provinces...

Aug2-2009--government inits continued misgovernance now wants nepra jurisdiction enforced forcibly...teh government has been continuously making bad decisions in this regard and Nepra is merely a front for the meanness or nastiness of the PPP regime...towards something that directly effects everybody...the government has yet to reduce electricity prices and is always willing to go along with price hikes...the government should also ensure that people like Tareen, teh iMF and teh finance ministry dont start hiking prices just on their personal whims...no where in teh world are electricity prices handled in such a shoddy, haphazard and inconsistent manner...the government wants price hikes even when the main ingredient in electricity...petroleum product prices are not rising...the government also seems unable to factor in high hydel generation which should effect prices somewhat...ten years ago wapda was making well over Rs200 billion and now should be making well over half a trillion with much higher prices and it is totally incredulous to suggest that prices have tobe hiked for any reason...
